Summary
ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Director of Engineering & Operations for ASM Global/Caesars Superdome | Smoothie King Center | Champions Square. Responsible for directing all engineering and building operations for 75,000 and 18,000 seat entertainment, sports, and convention facilities as well as a 200,000+ square foot outdoor entertainment venue.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Direct all aspects and personnel of engineering, operations and housekeeping including facility repair and maintenance, housekeeping, grounds maintenance, staging, setups and changeovers in compliance with ADA regulations and ASM Best PracticesCreate strategies for effective event planning and executionPrepare the engineering and operations annual operating budget for review with Director of FinancePrepare the five-year and ten-year capital improvement budget relative to facility improvements and long-range repairs for review with General Manager/AGM and Director of FinanceInsure electrical, mechanical, structural, environmental control and related systems for the facilities are well maintained and that appropriate annual inspections have been conducted and documentedAssist with union negotiations and union business as necessaryDepartment liaison with building owners (LSED), tenants and facility contractorsEnsure that the ASM Maintenance Report Program (ALTUM) is current, including preventative maintenance and work orders in accordance with accepted facility maintenance standardsProcure services, repairs and supply transactions through both bid and negotiated processesCoordinate and oversee special projects, such as construction, remodeling or expansionPlan and direct outside vendors/contractors to assure compliance with project contracts and safety requirementsLiaison to public utility, environmental and energy agenciesEnsure the coordination of the engineering and operations activities with event services and other departments to ensure facility readiness and proper operation of eventsAuthorize the requisition of equipment and supplies within budget guidelinesUnderstand and ensure all laws, codes, ordinances, policies, procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules/regulations and emergency procedures are followed and develop programs to ensure training for employees as neededApprove departmental new hires and ensure proper training has been conducted relative to OSHA requirements and ASM Best PracticesOversee safety and risk management, including all rules and regulations, staff training, fire/life safety and emergency proceduresPrepare reports on assigned maintenance operations and activities as neededAuthorize and approve event and operational staffing requirementsProvide yearly inventory of all equipmentInvestigate, analyze and resolve engineering and operational problems and complaintsConduct weekly staff meetings with direct reports to discuss events, procedures, problems and policy changesReview contracts for compliance with events and/or government specifications and suitability for occupancyCoordination on event capacities and floor plans with the appropriate jurisdictions having authority (JHA) including but not limited to the New Orleans Fire Department and Louisiana State Fire MarshalEnsure that the facilities meet the standards set forth by the NFL, NBA, and NCAA/CFP as appropriateAnalyze utility consumption and develop conservation strategies to minimize consumption and costs Assist the General Manager/AGM to promote energy efficiency and energy savingsServe as Director on Duty (DOD) at events as assignedOther duties as assignedQualifications

College degree in a related field8-10 years Facility Management highly desirable
