Director of Epic Applications & Integrations
SUMMARY The Epic Director is responsible for the successful implementation of new projects, upgrades, and maintenance of an Electronic Medical Record initiative using Epic software, processes, and tools. This person plans, organizes, directs, and manages project teams and tasks to achieve goals with budgeted funds and available personnel. Works with leadership to establish policies and ensure the project goals and objectives are met through the planning and decision-making process. The Director provides strong leadership and implements changes when necessary to ensure the system functionality and support initiatives are meeting the organization's goals. Evaluates actual project/program progress against plans and directs corrective actions. The Director acts as an advocate and liaison between stakeholder groups across the organization and is the central point of communication for all project activities. This Director position requires onsite work and leadership. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Leads efforts to define requirements, deliverables, objectives, resources, and project schedules for Epic upgrades, optimizations, and new implementations. 2. Assists with the creation, modification, and enhancements to enterprise project management, standards, processes, and policies. 3. Demonstrates leadership by identifying and mitigating tasks, conflict, and communication. 4. Provides effective leadership, motivation, and communication with project leadership, clinicians, physicians, and technical staff. 5. Successful planning and execution of a multi-year, multi-facility, enterprise-wide clinical and revenue cycle systems applications. 6. Maintain the scope and work plan and ensure all milestones and deliverables are on time and budget. 7. Ensure all outcomes and deliverables meet organizational goals, objectives, and quality standards. 8. Primary contact for Epic Applications and integration and will coordinate projects and communications to all impacted stakeholders. 9. Serve as a positive role model for encouraging others to embrace operational changes associated with the electronic medical record system and other application technology projects. 10. Coordinating software upgrades, updates and changes. QUALIFICATIONS · Masters level degree in Computer Science, Business or other IT or clinical related field. · 5 years’ experience in implementing information systems, clinical initiatives and other programs, including electronic medical record systems. Extensive experience in managing projects, budgets, issues, risks, testing, training and end user adoption within a healthcare organization. · 5 years’ experience in strategic planning and execution, serving in a management role, and providing organization-wide leadership.
