**Minimum Qualifications:**
Master’s degree or more than 5 years of post-graduate professional experience including post-graduate experience in higher education. Two years of supervisory experience.
Demonstrated successful experience in the creation, development, or implementation of experiential learning at the collegiate level. Demonstrated successful experience building and maintaining relationships.

**Job Description:**
The Director of Experiential Learning and Assessment will work with current university resources and programs towards the growth of existing experiential learning opportunities for John Sealy School of Medicine (JSSOM) Students. This position will also be responsible for providing oversight and design in implementing new learning opportunities and identifying additional resources to increase students’ knowledge and skillset throughout their medical school experience.
**Job Duties:**
+ Oversee the creation and delivery of programming to enhance experiential learning and its impact on student learning across the medical education program.
+ Develop high-impact JSSOM “institutional” standards for simulation within which course/clerkship directors must operate.
+ Develop a detailed curricular map of current clinical skills training and assessment for the JSSOM.
+ Promote faculty interest in and the development of experiential learning opportunities embedded in or as a co-curricular accompaniment to their courses.
+ Serve as a resource for faculty and staff with questions about best practices in experiential learning.
+ Serve as an advocate for experiential learning.
+ Develop, coordinate, and implement an experiential learning assessment plan.
+ Enhance the coordination and scheduling of simulation activities.
+ Foster faculty development in simulation, including case and checklist writing, introduction to new tools and technology, and best practices for “human” and “non-human” simulation.
+ Work in collaboration with others to identify and pursue possible outside funding sources for experiential learning.
