Director of Family Development
This position is Monday to Friday; however some evenings and weekend hours may be required. Job Summary Oversee the Family Development Unit including its Home Finding and Foster Family Training Units. Primary responsibilities include the recruitment and certification of Foster and Adoptive Parents for all FFC and TFFC programs as well as the Training and licensing of WDSS Foster Families. Additional responsibilities include overseeing the intake and placement requests for the NYC FFC units. About Abbott House Abbott House is an innovative community-based organization that helps children, families, adults and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities with complex needs build lasting foundations for a promising future. We operate programs in the New York Metropolitan area and Hudson Valley. Key Responsibilities + Coordinate the foster parent recruitment for the FFC and TFFC programs. + Implement innovative and creative recruitment strategies to maximize the foster parent base + Coordinate foster parenting orientation sessions, initial certification training ongoing cycles including MAPP and ABC Parenting Skills, and as well as the annual recertification training hours + Oversee the certification of all Foster/Adoptive homes and families by approving comprehensive home studies and maintaining foster parent files + Complete and keep current all NYS CONNX and necessary Options data entry for foster parent record keeping. + Conduct weekly individual supervision sessions and bi-monthly team meetings with all reporting staff + Ensure the fluid administration of the WDSS Foster Family Training Unit + Provide effective and ongoing communication with NYS OFCS and the various LDSS + Attend Stakeholder’s meetings for state, city and counties as needed. + Ensure that foster parent records meet agency, city and state standards + Any other related as required. About You You are the ideal candidate if you are enjoy working in the social services field while empowering underserved communities. Being compassionate, reliable, self-motivated, and a team player are critical attributes to be successful in this role. + MSW with 5 years Child Welfare Experience or BA with 10 years of related experience + High level of organizational skills + Demonstrate excellent creative thinking and problem-solving skills and be task/detail oriented. + Strengths must include effective communication, ability to implement innovative processes, and lead a successful team Job Type: Full-time Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year Schedule: + Evenings as needed + Monday to Friday + Weekends as needed Work Location: In person
