Director of Fiduciary Risk and Compliance-Trust

Under limited supervision of the Head of Wealth Management or their designee, responsible for the overall compliance program and risk management as it relates to the Associated Trust Company. Responsible for developing and overseeing the execution of a compliance program with respect to Trust Company activities, understanding statutory and regulatory changes and their impact on the Trust Company, and providing guidance on how to ensure compliance and risk management practices can be incorporated within the policies and procedures of the Trust Company. Works closely with Senior Trust Company Management, Legal, Risk Management, Customer Care, Corporate Compliance, and Corporate Audit, as well as Business Line Risk Managers and Compliance Officers throughout Wealth Management to understand and assist in addressing risk mitigation and non-compliance issues.

Act as the Business Line Risk Manager (BLRM) for the LOB/support area and report functionally and administratively to the Executive or Head of the Line. In addition, the BLRM has an indirect reporting relationship to the Chief Risk Officer. The BLRM has functional risk responsibilities as documented within the "BLRM Program Document" to help ensure first line risk mitigation commensurate with line risk. The CRO and Audit Exec shall provide the line Executive periodic performance feedback.

Job Accountabilities

Maintain a thorough knowledge of all applicable fiduciary and banking statutes and regulations. Keep current and up-to-date on new, existing and proposed regulations, and analyze implications of proposed regulations on the Trust Company or other Wealth Management entities as applicable, and communicate the implications to management.Provide guidance and advice to the Trust Company on compliance and risk management, including policies, procedures, and controls necessary to achieve compliance with state and/or federal regulatory requirements. Act as a resource for compliance and risk management related activities, and personally research and escalate questions or concerns, or report findings back to management in a timely manner.

Full responsibility to manage the Trust Company's:

Conflict of interest program, including its development and execution of monitoring and reporting of identified actual or potential conflicts and related risk mitigation efforts.Accountability program, including its development, ongoing review and maintenance, coordinating collection of documentation regarding critical errors and reporting to management on critical errors to assist management in mitigating risk by identifying colleague coaching and/or process improvement opportunities.Complaint reporting for the Trust Company in accordance with Trust Company and Customer Care procedures.Participate in or delegate participation in various Trust Company governance committees, including the Board Trust Committee to report compliance related findings, risk management initiatives, regulatory exam issues, and to educate and discuss new regulations impacting the Trust Company. Participate in Corporate level risk-related governance committees or project groups to assist in identifying and mitigating regulatory, compliance and other risk on a corporate-wide basis. Assist in coordinating and participate in the annual Risk Assessments (BSA/AML, RCSA, Compliance) of the Trust Company and its operations.Participate in the development, implementation and review of policies and procedures as it relates to the orderly functioning of the Trust Company with an emphasis on compliance and risk. Provide guidance to the Trust Company on education programs to ensure compliance background and requirements are included in the curriculum. Maintain a high level of understanding as it relates to Trust Company systems and applications to ensure when changes are made, compliance initiatives are not negatively impacted. Participate in the analysis of new systems or applications to ensure compliance requirements can be met. This responsibility extends to the implementation of applicable Wealth Management or Corporate level policies, risk programs and risk standards, and assisting in understanding or monitoring compliance and risk with these other Wealth Management or Corporate level initiatives, as delegated.Assist Trust Company management in assessing compliance and risk, and identifying potential violations, by developing and implementing an effective compliance program that includes periodic monitoring and reporting related to compliance with Trust Company policies, procedures, and state and/or federal regulatory requirements. Develop and manage a team of Compliance professionals responsible for executing the compliance program. Guide and direct the Fiduciary Risk & Compliance Program Manager as to additions or revisions to the compliance program in relation to statutory or regulatory changes that impact the Trust Company.Participate in coordination of information gathering and management discussions relative to all external and internal audits and examinations, and assist Trust Company management in the development of responses to audit or regulatory findings. This function includes audits performed by Corporate Audit and examinations by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency or other regulatory agencies.



Education:
