Director of Finance
Our client, an international leader in industrial distribution, is looking for a Director of Finance to join their growing team in Edmonton. Reporting directly to the President, the Finance Director will be responsible for all reporting, CapEx and cash management, operational accounting and oversee audit and compliance for all branches across Canada.
Responsibilities:
Support, collaborate and consult with the executive team for efficient and effective operations. Interpret complex financial information and make recommendations to senior and executive management. Gather and analyze financial, economic, and other data to drive robust budgeting and planning processes; facilitate short to midterm forecasting processes; substantiate the forecast and report on variances. Strong M&A experience. Implement systems for early identification of budget and forecast shortfalls and/or windfalls; deliver recommendations for corrective action. Complete ad hoc reporting to support multiple stakeholders in a cross-functional matrix environment, balancing their needs and perspectives to maximize the company’s interests. Oversee all aspects of accounting department including revenue, accounts payable, accounts receivable and inventory while assuring accuracy, timeliness, and conformity with professional standards, best practices, and internal policies. Guide the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting activities and maintain supporting schedules. Coordinate with external auditors and external financial professionals. Implement policies, procedures, and controls for all areas of financial and data integrity and for custody and control of assets. Work closely with the treasury department to establish short and long-term cash projections. Integrate acquisitions into systems and processes. Coaching, mentoring, and developing talent within the greater finance team.Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in finance or business administration or equivalent CPA is required, MBA is an asset. 10+ years post-designation experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a management role. Financial planning and analysis (FP&A) experience within distribution and/or manufacturing industry preferred. Demonstration of excellent analytical, logical, and forward-thinking competencies.Remuneration:
