Director of Finance

ADP is hiring a Director of Finance.

Are you a finance leader adept at providing financial and strategic decision support to the business to ensure the achievement of short- and long-term goals? Are you highly skilled in influencing cross-functional partners, providing trusted guidance, and timely analysis and solutions?

 

As Director of Finance, you work closely with Sales and the NAS Deal Support organization on new business pricing and facilitation of timely new business order flow. You will act as the Finance business partner to Client Success across a broad product set as it relates to all client matters with financial implications, including client contract renewals. The Director will also serve as a subject matter expert and partner with the Quote to Cash teams (QTC) on initiatives including price increase automation, and the Lyric Accelerator Program.

 

Supporting the National Accounts Workforce Now (WFN) book of business along with other clients of the NAS HCM Portfolio, the Director will facilitate the understanding of key business dynamics, including revenue analysis, margin improvement, pricing, and business analysis (such as annual price increase, WFN profitability, bad debt, and other quality metrics). Driving financial best practices, the Director will optimize financial opportunities regarding revenue assurance, growth, retention, margins, and client success throughout their book of business and the organization.

 

In addition, the Director acts as a support function for the operating plan, forecast process, and management reporting/financial close activities. There is occasional travel expected in this role.

What you’ll do:

Here’s what you can expect on a typical day:

 

Business Partnering:

Partner with key stakeholders and business partners to align on business priorities and drive effective solutions/execution. Constructively communicate compelling arguments based on facts and data and obtain necessary buy-in to deliver on business objectives. Partner with senior/general management in setting direction and managing key priorities such as client profitability, competitive position, product enhancements, and other business opportunities

Business Analysis:

Use a deep understanding of objectives, issues, and root causes and provide insightful, fact-based data analysis to help solve complex problems. Provide financial and strategic decision support to senior management to ensure achievement of short- and long-term financial goals. Assist management in understanding the business dynamics, which includes productivity/activity, relationships, models, trends, leading indicators, and business statistics.

Operating Planning and Forecasting:

Provide consultative input or business analyses to support operating planning and forecasting.

Financial Operational Policy:

Influence and maintain consistent financial operational policies and procedures to govern related practices. Drive identification of best practices related to financial operations policies and procedures; recommend modifications as needed. Ensure compliance with all applicable policies and practices, including pricing guardrails.

Talent Development and Management:

Delegate responsibilities to matrixed associates, both to deliver on commitments and to continuously build team members' capabilities.

Management Reporting and Financial Close Activities:

Produce and distribute recurring and ad hoc management reports. Responsible for financial reporting accuracy; partner with shared services organizations and ensure adequate control environment to mitigate financial and business risks in collaboration with process owners. Leverage recurring and ad hoc management reporting to identify trends, build business cases, highlight opportunities and risks, and drive business decision-making.

 

Experience. You have 10+ years of experience in relevant skills gained and developed in the same or similar role, including 4+ years of people leadership (direct or indirect).

 

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:

Experience assisting management in understanding business dynamics, including revenue assurance, client life cycle, leading indicators, and business statistics. Strong experience as an influential Business Partner adept at communicating compelling arguments based on facts and data and persuading others internally across matrix areas and externally with clients. Strong Excel modeling skills. Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems by taking a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. Ability to travel occasionally. You’ll have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent.

 

For additional comfortability in the role:

Direct knowledge of ADP’s Quote to Cash systems and processes Direct knowledge of Workforce Now and other ADP NAS products ADP Sales Operations, Deal Services Organization, or Client Success experience a plus MBA in Finance or MS in Business Analytics or a similar degree Graduate of Finance Leadership Development Program Graduate of Executive MBA Program
