Director of Finance
The Director of Finance plays a pivotal role in ensuring the organization’s financial stability and growth. This position oversees day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting, while also developing and implementing financial policies to maintain compliance with internal controls and regulations. As both a strategic leader and a hands-on contributor, the Director of Finance combines high-level financial oversight with active involvement in operational tasks to support the organization’s mission and long-term success.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide oversight into the organization’s financial operations, cash management, accounting, internal control structure and risk management.
Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organizations’ mission and goals.
Provide financial leadership and strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors.
Collaborate and interface with Human Resources on various organizational facets including total rewards, compliance, workforce planning, and strategic decision-making.
Manage relations with bankers, investment managers, auditors and other external financial entities.
Perform ad hoc financial analysis for decision making.
Prepare a timely and accurate monthly financial reporting package with key performance indicators for distribution to the Finance Committee, Board or Directors and internal stakeholders, in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Coordinate the annual budget process by soliciting information from the leadership team and facilitating decision making that aligns with the organization’s mission and strategy. Present the annual budget with key performance indicators to the Finance Committee and Board of Directors.
Monitor adherence to the budget monthly; facilitate decision making for course correction when necessary.
Oversee forecasting and ensure cash flow is sufficient to meet operational needs.
Manage the annual financial statement audit process.
Ensure compliance with tax reporting requirements, including but not limited to an annual Form 990 and CHAR500, monthly sales tax, annual 1099 forms, quarterly payroll tax reporting, annual W-2 forms and annual 401k plan form 5500.
Manage third party IT service provider relationship. Oversee technology and manage organization cyber security risk.
Serve as Plan Administrator for the organization’s 401k plan.
Act as the organization’s AML Compliance Officer, ensure organization wide compliance with regulations and facilitate routine audits.
Oversee compliance with certain Federal, State and Local Government grant requirements.
Provide financial training or guidance to staff and board members as needed.
Assist in fundraising and development efforts by providing financial insights and projections.

Additional Responsibilities:
Act as an ambassador to bring to life the mission, vision, and values of GRHFH in all aspects of job performance.
Serve as organization representative on organization Finance Committee
Periodically attend other organization committees to provide finance related guidance.
Network with Habitat for Humanity International and local finance related organizations
Occasionally participate in media, fundraising, and celebration/recognition events.
Other duties as assigned.

Required:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, with 7+ years of comprehensive financial management experience (required)
Minimum of 3 years of experience managing teams of 2 or more (required)
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation (preferred)
Experience in non-profit financial management (preferred)
