**Description:**
**Position Summary:**
Financial Leader and advisor to the VP of Finance and Senior Leadership Team in the areas of Strategic Financial Planning and Operations. Responsible for guidance and business acumen in facilitating the organizational Forecast / Operating Budget and Capital Planning to improve systems’ financial performance (Balance Sheet, Cash, and Income Statement).
**What the Director of Finance & Decision Support will need:**
+ Minimum:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering or related field
+ Broad based experience knowledge of finance, the health care industry, financial, business planning and budgeting normally obtained over a six to ten years of progressive financial experience.Strong track record of working successfully with members of the Senior Leadership Team, Physicians, Management, Trinity Health System Office Teams, External Partners, and staff.
+ In-depth knowledge of healthcare industry, reimbursement, payors, hospital / clinic operations; strong communication skills and relationship management including Senior Leadership Team, physicians, management and Trinity Health Corporate office; must demonstrate the ability to provide leadership and to motivate and to influence others to achieve results with and without direct line accountability; must possess a high level of analytical and conceptual ability, strong creativity and the ability to develop and use computer software systems and models; persistent and able to keep things moving on multiple fronts. Necessary management skills to assemble and direct the appropriate team/employees of Financial Analysts in support of the organization.
**What the Director of Finance & Decision Support will do:**
+ Service Line Financial Planning & Strategic Growth: Pro Forma, Business Plans, Capital Plans, Operating Perf.
+ Financial Operational Improvement and Management:
+ Workforce Management: Productivity Model & Department Standards
+ Financial Models: Financial Reporting, Cost Accounting, Forecasting, Service Line Analysis including Net Present Value and Return on Investment for capital, operational business plans, contracting, and operational support.
+ Partnerships with Trinity Health System Office:
+ Accounting, Reimbursement, Capital Planning, Financial Reporting, etc.
+ Revenue Excellence: Primary contract for Facility and Professional Billing teams of URO
+ Supply Chain Management, TIS, Bio Med
+ State Level Leaders: Lab, Radiology, etc.
+ Responsible for the development, implementation and use of financial software systems and models:
+ Forecasting Models and Facilitation of the process with SLT, Directors and Managers
+ Financial Reporting: Monthly operations, Payroll, Data Analytics
+ Service Line modeling / cost accounting
+ Workforce Management & Labor Staffing Models
+ Provider Compensation
+ Ambassador of Trinity Health Muskegon with:
+ Collaboration with internal (TH) and external partners (University of Michigan, Universal Health Systems, Mary Free Bed, Pine Rest, Advent, etc.)
+ Manages, mentors and develops members of the Financial Planning and Decision Support team of the Health Ministry Organization.
+ Finance Team will serve as advisors to Directors, Managers in all of stated areas above from small hospitals, retail pharmacies, departments (Operating Room, Emergency, Nursing Units, Lab, Radiology, Support Areas, etc)
+ Create and provide necessary leadership and education to Vice Presidents, Directors and Managers in their understanding and knowledge of financial management performance of the Health Ministry’s operations and strategic plan (financial and operational).
+ Assures that decisions and approvals from key stakeholders, including Trinity Health Home Office, are obtained on schedule.
