Job Purpose:
To supervise and direct the financial activities of the hotels by providing financial information about all company activities that will assist management, its shareholders and other users in making educated economic decisions about the company's future.·Direct and oversee the activities of the accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements and annual audits and annual budgets.
·Manage account reconciliation for operating and balance sheet accounts.
·Direct and oversee the activities of the disbursement processes, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, capital expenditures management, employee expense reports, cash control, payroll processing and tax compliance, and quarter and year-end payroll closing including federal and state reports.
·Direct and oversee the accounting of the revenue cycle including income audit and accounts receiveable. Ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts, and collections.
·Direct and oversee treasury management which includes weekly funding reports and customer service.
·Manage local and state income tax compliance to assure the accurate and timely completion of all tax returns taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes.
·Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company's value.
·Responds to General Manager/CFO as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate financial needs. Evaluate the financial impact on business decisions, and provide advisement and resources to management.
·Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions. Ensure that all levels of management are promptly notified of any financial decisions from established policies and/or control weaknesses in the hotel.
·Monitor financial performance metrics, including ADR, occupancy, and profit margins, to drive decision-making and operational improvements.
·Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner.
·Attend all hotel meetings as requested by the General Manager.
·Supervise the accounting office staff including scheduling, disciplining, and training. Cross-train team members to support department operations.
·Other duties as assigned.Work Experience
EDUCATION:
High school graduate or equivalent required.
Minimum of 4 year Bachelor’s degree.
Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of five years of experience in a finance leadership position or five plus years of progressive career growth in hotel finance.
