Director of Finance- Hospitality
Description We are looking for a skilled and strategic Director of Finance to oversee financial operations for a hospitality client focused on hotels and food & beverage. This is a contract position based in New York, New York, offering an opportunity to lead a talented finance team while managing accounting oversight, budgets, reporting, and forecasting. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial management and a collaborative approach to drive organizational success. Responsibilities: • Manage and oversee the preparation of annual budgets and ensure alignment with organizational goals. • Supervise month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards. • Lead financial reporting activities, delivering timely and insightful analysis to support decision-making. • Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts to ensure financial stability and effective resource allocation. • Collaborate with team members, including bookkeepers, area accounting managers, and finance consultants, to streamline operations. • Utilize QuickBooks for corporate financial management and M3 for property-specific accounting. • Implement and refine budget processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. • Work closely with stakeholders in the hospitality and design sectors to align financial strategies with business objectives. • Manage and optimize the use of tools such as Google Docs and Excel for financial documentation and reporting. Requirements • Proven experience in financial leadership roles, preferably within the hospitality or design industries. • Strong expertise in annual budgeting, month-end close processes, and financial reporting. • Proficiency in cash flow forecasting and budget process optimization. • Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks and M3 accounting systems. • Familiarity with tools like Google Docs and Excel for financial analysis and reporting. • Exceptional team leadership and collaboration skills. • Ability to deliver strategic insights through financial data analysis. • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; advanced certifications are a plus.
