Responsibility Overview
Metis Technology Solutions, Inc., an authentically women-owned business providing engineering services supporting aviation and space systems development and operations, including spaceflight systems, ground systems, modeling and simulation systems, research facility development and operations, and data analytics seeks a Director of Financial Controls to join the headquarters team. Metis’s primary customers include NASA, DoD, and Space Force.
This position is responsible for processes and controls related to accounting, budgeting, pricing, forecasting, cost tracking, payroll, and financial operations.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related fields requiredMaster’s degree such as an MBA or a Master’s in Finance or related field preferredRequired Experience
10+ years of experience as a prime contractor and subcontractorA deep understanding of how government contractors operate, including the unique financial challenges, contract reporting requirements and controls, and cost accounting standards (CAS) specific to NASA, DoD, and Space ForceExpertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, auditing, and compliance with government regulations (e.g., FAR, DFARS).Knowledge of government-specific cost accounting standards (CAS) and how they apply to government contracts.Preparing reports to the government, other government contractors, and external entities.Indirect rate pool application to programs and contractsTracking and managing program funds and margins Expert level experience with Deltek Costpoint as used in government contracting.Preferred Experience
Proven experience managing a team and overseeing financial operations.Knowledge of government-specific cost accounting standards (CAS) and how they apply to government contracts.Managing payroll processing and use of ADP.Oversight and management of outsourced financial services provider to verify that the third-party service provider meets contractual obligations, performance metrics, compliance requirements, and quality standards.Technical Skills and Knowledge
Specific expertise in calculating, forecasting, and reporting fringe benefits as required by government contracts, including how these benefits must be allocated and reported in compliance with government regulations like FAR and CAS.Ability to develop cost proposals, track costs against contracts, compliance with government contract terms, including indirect cost rates and billing.Understanding of auditing processes, including DCAA and NASA ICE audits, AS9100D/ISO 9001, and CMMI appraisals with ability to establish and operation financial practices meeting compliance standards.Strong skills in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for both internal stakeholders and external government agencies.In-depth knowledge of financial reporting requirements for government client and other entitiesLeadership and Management Skills
