Director of Financial Planning & Analysis - ISC

Position Overview

This position is a key financial and strategic voice in the Integrated Supply Chain (ISC), ensuring efficient and cost competitive supply chain operations. As an embedded corporate finance leader, this position will server as an active member of the ISC leadership team and a dedicated financial partner to divisional leadership, this leader is expected to develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of ISC functions and participate in various functional teams to drive cost competitiveness and financial excellence. The position leads and supports all financial planning and analysis activities of those teams (Distribution, Transportation, Global Supply Chain Sourcing, Customer Service, etc.). Responsibilities include evaluating, discovering and driving strategic initiatives, leading financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes, establishing and monitoring key performance metrics, and presenting findings and recommendations to senior and executive leadership.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Discover and Provide insights, guidance, and direction to support overall ISC goals, BU goals, and accretive financial performance.   Responsible for setting specific financial and performance goals for ISC groups. 

Provide financial planning and analytical modeling to help ISC and Shaw achieve financial goals 

Influence efforts to identify, prioritize and solve for financial goals in the ISC functions. 

Lead the ISC financial review processes to 1) achieve timely, high-quality reporting and analysis for group, divisional, and senior leadership. 2) identify areas of opportunity to drive improvement. 

Lead and support the development of ISC groups’ financial budgets and forecasts to monitor progress, drive accountability, and recommend corrective actions. 

Lead the annual business plan process for the ISC group while maintaining a close connection to financial leaders across the Operations group and each BU. 

Work with appropriate technical resources to develop dashboards and control towers to optimize return on inventory, cash flow, and other significant impacts on Shaw’s overall financial performance. 

Provide guidance and support for strategic capital investments within the ISC, maintaining and advising on capital expenditures to meet service and financial goals. 

Provide a framework and guidance to measure, audit, and optimize ROIC for assets, including inventory and other investments. 

Responsible for creating a strong foundation of training and accountability based on financial principles, budgeting, and process improvement. 

Participate in acquisition due diligence efforts related to supply chain capabilities. 

Coordinate with IBP/demand planning processes to ensure alignment between consensus demand plans and ISC business plans and budgets. 

Take an active role in recommending actions regarding carrier/3PL contract agreements, transportation equipment lease/buy options, and real estate leases for financial impact and improvement opportunities. 

Manage the relationship with the company’s outsourced freight audit and payment provider. 

Develop and govern the list of off and on-budget financial performance improvement activities (Mission 12) for the ISC. 

Lead and/or participate in financial and accounting system integration teams. 

Act as the key liaison to Corporate Accounting. 

Perform other duties as requested by Group and Executive management. 

Ensure compliance with Shaw, Berkshire, GAAP (as needed), and ethical standards. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS 

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or IE required; CPA or MBA strongly preferred. 

7+ years of experience managing finance/accounting professionals in a corporate or industrial/manufacturing environment. 

Strong leadership and communication skills, with strong systems skills (such as Excel, TM1, query building, PAWs report writing, Oracle ERP, Microsoft products). 

Ability to lead a team consisting of direct reports and others, with demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships. 

Specific in-depth knowledge of Shaw’s supply chain functions and accounting systems or Supply Chain Financial experience in other industries preferred. 

Preferred experience in large, innovative logistics organizations. 

Ability to simplify complex financial concepts and explain them clearly and with context to the enterprise.

8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
