Responsibilities As a Director of Fleet, you will be responsible for driving the overall program performance and consistency in production, execution approach quality, vendor selection, resource management and other key program metrics *Fully remote position *MUST HAVE - Heavy Equipment/Construction Fleet Experience Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Training staff and monitoring their performance and progress Communicating with other departments, staff groups, and customers Ensuring quality, delivery, and budget objectives are met Delivering and fulfilling objectives and directions from the operation's headquarters Producing regular metric reports and statistics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis Briefing team leaders on the issues for the market assigned Visiting customers to monitor the quality of service they are receiving Maintaining computerized administration and automated storage and retrieval systems Supervises and coordinates professional, technical, and non-technical staff by establishing performance measures, goals, objectives and priorities, providing direction and feedback, and ensuring assigned projects/tasks are completed accurately and by the specified due date Prepares regular internal/external progress, project status and problem resolution reports Manages relationships with vendors and contractors that are supporting field construction activities Evaluates overall and individual work performance of crew staff to determine effectiveness in providing quality products within time and cost restraints Monitors time and dollar expenditures to meet established targets Other duties as assigned Qualifications About You: You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work Are proficient in Microsoft office suites. Have excellent oral and written communication skills. Have excellent time management, organizational planning, and problem-solving skills. You follow instructions, respond to management direction, and keep commitments. Strong leadership and project management skills. Able to manage, establish, and communicate clear goals and objectives. Heavy equipment knowledge Construction industry experience required Leadership skills; Management of 50+ employees 5+ years of experience in a Fleet Manager position required Strong financial analysis and reporting experience Utilization of fleet tracking software (Zonar or similar) Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record Experience managing a volume of fleet of 5000+ units Process improvement skills a big plug plus DOT compliance knowledge preferred Ability to manage remotely Hard work pays off.
