Accountabilities:
The director of operations manages all non-coaching aspects of the sport program. The individual is responsible for ensuring the administrative functions of the program are aligned with the department and university’s mission and vision while providing innovative and strategic solutions to day-to-day challenges in operating a Division I program.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Manage all aspects of team and staff recruiting travel including arranging flights, hotel accommodations, ground transportation, team per diem and trip itinerariesReconciliation of team and staff travel expenses following University and Athletics Business Office policies and proceduresManage procurement and purchasing for the program including negotiation with vendors (hotel, caters, transportation, etc.) for all program functionsManage elements of budget for which they have oversight (e.g., travel, equipment, casual wage personnel) and make independent decision within approved fiscal year budgetManage all aspects of official and unofficial campus visits of prospect student-athletes; booking travel and hotel accommodations when applicable and submitting required compliance documentationWork collaboratively with executive team members on the execution of game competition contracts, both home and away gamesFacilitate and oversee process for incoming and returning students including coordination with other departmental (e.g. Compliance, Sports Medicine, etc.) and campus (e.g. Admission, Financial Aid, etc.) partners in line with institutional proceduresDevelop and coordinate program correspondence to key constituents including donors, alumni, parents, and prospective student-athletesWork collaboratively with the athletics communications and creative services unit on social media strategy and presence for the programMaintain confidential and routine records, such as financial aid records, NLI forms, budget reports, compliance forms, procurement documents, competition forms and student-athlete class schedulesComply with all NCAA, Patriot League and Colgate University rules, regulations and policiesOther duties as assigned by the coaches and sports administration team


This position may include secondary football coaching duties based on the experience of the selected candidate.

Professional Experience/Qualifications
Two (2) or more years of experience in sport operations.

Preferred Qualifications
Two (2) or more years of experience in NCAA DI collegiate sport operationsExperience playing or working with collegiate football



Education
A Bachelor’s degree is required.
A Master’s degree is preferred.
