The storied Dartmouth Football program, boasting an Ivy League-leading 22 championships, is seeking a Director of Football Performance to help build on its legacy. We are already hard at work preparing for the 2025 season as we look forward to the opportunity to compete for a third consecutive Ivy League title and—for the first time in history—earn the right to represent our time-honored league in the NCAA Division I Championship (FCS) playoffs. This re-imagined role will be pivotal to our success by designing and implementing a comprehensive, best-in-class physical preparation framework to enhance athletic performance, minimize injury risk, and sustain a culture of championship habits and behaviors within the daily training environment, in close collaboration with the head coach. The Director will collaborate seamlessly with Dartmouth Peak Performance (DP2), leveraging interdisciplinary expertise to provide holistic support for student-athletes’ health, wellness, and development—empowering them to excel both on and off the field.
While football will be the primary focus of this position, there may be opportunities to extend support to Dartmouth’s other 34 varsity teams based on candidate experience and needs of the department.
The ideal candidate will possess:
• A bachelor’s or graduate degree in a relevant field
• Certification through the NSCA (CSCS) or CSCCa (SCCC)
• A minimum of three (3) years of relevant football experience
• Demonstrated readiness to lead a nationally competitive FCS program

Featuring a comprehensive athletic menu, Dartmouth offers 35 varsity sports - 16 for men, 18 for women and coed sailing. In addition, there are 35 club and 24 intramural sports as three-quarters of Dartmouth undergraduates participate in some form of athletics. Nicknamed “The Big Green,” Dartmouth's varsity athletic teams compete in NCAA Division I as well as in the eight-member Ivy League. Throughout the years, Dartmouth athletes have competed at the very highest level, excelling in NCAA championships ranging from track and field to basketball, cross country to soccer, as well as skiing, hockey, lacrosse, baseball and tennis. The college has demonstrated a total commitment to athletics and recreation with over $100 million in facility improvements since 2000, including: Boss Tennis Center and Gordon Pavilion, Scully-Fahey Field (featuring FieldTurf), Blackman Football Practice Fields, McLane Skiway Lodge and Corey Ford Rugby Clubhouse; comprehensive renovations to Leverone Fieldhouse, Hanover Country Club, Berry Center squash courts, Lew...instein Athletic Center (featuring a new 14,000-square-foot recreational fitness center), and Memorial Field (including FieldTurf playing surface and Tartan track); Floren Varsity House (featuring a 10,000-square-foot varsity strength training center); Burnham Soccer Field and Sports Pavilion; an AstroTurf field for field hockey and recreational sports; upgraded basketball offices and locker rooms, and beautiful new venues for baseball (Red Rolfe Field at Biondi Park) and softball (Dartmouth Softball Park) as well as the 70,000-square-foot Indoor Practice Facility that was completed in 2020, transforming how hundreds of Dartmouth student-athletes prepare year-round for competition. Although the Ivy League schools do not offer athletic scholarships, admission is need-blind, and more than half of the Dartmouth student body receives financial assistance. A private, four-year, liberal arts, coeducational college, Dartmouth's focus is on undergraduate education, but the College is considered a small university with graduate schools of business, engineering and medicine as well as 16 graduate programs in the arts and sciences.
