POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Global Logistics is responsible for the fulfillment plan function and shipment network design as well as optimization strategies, establishing a strong supply plan handoff to external partners and end-users. This role will be accountable for the implementation of end-to-end shipping operations planning world-wide, with particular focus on North America, Middle East, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
About the Role:
The Director of Global Logistics will report to the Vice President of Procurement and Supply Chain Management for Mission Technology Solutions and will be matrixed to the Chief Commercial Officer of HomeSafe, in addition to partnering with leadership in Finance, Operations, and Quality/Regulatory.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Director of Global Logistics is responsible for the fulfillment planning function and shipment network design and optimization strategy, establishing a strong supply plan handoff to external partners and end-users. This role will be accountable for the implementation of end-to-end shipping operations planning world-wide, with particular focus on North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. This role will report to the Vice President, of Procurement & Supply Chain and partner with leadership in Sales, Finance, Operations, and Quality/Regulatory to lead integrated planning for strategic supply chain planning of products.
The key responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:
Oversee and manage global “end-to-end” shipment of personal household goods and delivery logistics planning and end-user supply chain network design and its continued support specific to Global household moves.
Ensure that personal household goods are efficiently transported, and delivered to final destination on-time, including the management of importation/customs clearances process into jurisdictions outside the U.S.Develop strategic relationships and a robust network with commercial moving companies, manage performance, of integrated and specialist delivery networks responsible for the transport of personal household goods around the world.Lead complex supplier negotiations geared toward competitive prices, reduced cost, terms and conditions, ensuring finalization and execution of long-term agreements with commercial moving companies, logistical companies, and long-distance movers.Implement FAR, DFARS, and other Contractual requirements as related to subcontract Agreements, Long-Term Agreements, and/or Master Service Agreements.Assist in developing subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for specialized materials, equipment, and services.Review and administer service agreements ensuring satisfactory progress and compliance with the general terms and conditions of the agreement, and to identify problems that threaten contractor performance.Collect end-user feedback and identify areas requiring improvements or corrective action; recommend actions when subcontractor is not in compliance with subcontract clauses and provisions or require subcontractor corrective action plan.Manage subcontract funding, modifications and change orders in support of customer demands and all other aspects of day-to-day subcontract administration.Effectively collaborate and communicate with internal and external Customers, Clients, and executive leadership. Ability to interact with a high-level of patience, tact, and diplomacy, and maintain composure under pressure. Can easily mediate and resolve conflicts.Responsible for regulatory affairs management for shipped product, ability to anticipate new or changing regulations in the industry both domestic and international.Establish the cadence of strategic planning, coordinate with Finance and Operations to ensure robust modeling of product and network scenarios to support decision-making.Lead the budgeting and strategic planning process for the global supply chain operations.Hire, develop and mentor members of a high-performing global team. Oversee team to evolve supply chain strategies, bringing integrated and innovative solutions to the moving industry.Fulfill all relevant line management responsibilities including performance reviews, goal setting, development plans, and annual compensation processes within budget and agreed parameters.Focus on immediate and urgent business needs while driving long term strategic plans and capability and organizational development within the supply chain organization.Maintain and communicate current, accurate and complete Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) by category to optimize operations and improve performance in various stages of the logistics process. Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics within a Power Bi model that drive accountability and improvement in both operational and financial metrics, reflecting effectiveness and efficiency of department activities.Communicate metrics, demand uncertainties and risks, and develops options for optimizing supply network capacity and capabilities.Develop a response plan for disruptive challenges across the global supply chain and at all stages of the transport lifecycle. Ensures that the plan and capabilities of each external partner are adapted, and in place to minimize the risk of disruption and deliver an effective resilience to threats and hazards.Partners with the Chief Commercial Officer, Vice Presidents Operations, Quality, and Finance, and senior management to drive excellence throughout the Global Logistics supply chain.EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration or Logistics-related field or equivalent experience.Master’s degree or Master of Business Administration preferred.Minimum ten (10) years of leadership experience in European, Asian or Global Freight Logistics, Freight Forwarding, managing a procurement team, and/or ownership of freight Profit and Loss.Minimum of 10 years of experience in the move management services industry is highly desired, with at least 5 years in a management role.Extensive experience in supply chain execution and oversight, planning, ERP systems, process modeling, supply network strategy and optimization.Must be a U.S. citizen due to contractual requirements.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (Highly Desired):
Possesses an in-depth knowledge of the end-to-end, global transportation and logistics process in both domestic and international environments.Possess in-depth knowledge of transit insurance policies and the insurance claims process in the moving industry. Expertise in the manage of insurance claims should accidents and mishaps occur, leading to damages, theft, loss, or destruction of items being transported.Possess a strong working knowledge of U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations in the moving industry and associated Inspection standards.Substantial “firsthand” experience with global logistics services and storage of personal household goods for U.S. military, personnel, DoD civilian, and the families.Expertise in the development specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and timely (SMART) goals with a focus on both leading and lagging indicators.Strong understanding of negotiation strategies with external couriers, including global importation and customs regulations.Substantial knowledge of the importation process throughout Europe (intracommunity cross-border transactions), Middle East, and Asian-Pacific regions.Advanced knowledge of contracts, negotiation strategies, vendor management; experience negotiating and obtaining the best price possible on materials and transportation services.Proven transportation management skills in the movement of household goods with experience building and sustaining global teams.Extensive experience with Government audits is highly preferred.Strong background with Cost Analysis and Price Analysis is a plus.Extensive experience negotiating and managing Master Service Agreements in the moving industry.Demonstrated leadership experience including driving development of employees and team dynamics.Possesses in-depth knowledge of industry and system best practices including reporting (EC sales, intrastate reporting, commercial invoicing, etc.).Strong analytical background and mastery of analytical tools (Excel, etc.)Ability to be highly tactical when necessary.The ability to deal professionally in stressful situations.Ability to travel extensively that can include overnight stays and working outside normal business hours as needed.Belong, Connect and Grow at KBR
