TTI is seeking a talented individual for the position Director, Government Affairs. This position reports directly to the Group Deputy Chief Finance Officer.
**Job Summary:**
The Director of Government Affairs will lead and advance the Milwaukee Tool, RYOBI, Hoover, Oreck, and Dirt Devil (Floor Care) brands under the Techtronic Industries (TTI) umbrella for federal, state, and local public policy agenda in the United States. This team leader is responsible for creating, building, and developing and managing a multifaceted strategic plan to accomplish key objectives and priorities aligned with our core values, objectives, and goals that will protect, defend, and advance the businesses.
**Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities:**
+ Understand Milwaukee Tool, Ryobi, and Floor Care businesses, core users, objectives, and future roadmap for bringing innovation.
+ Develop and manage state and federal government relations strategy to support those core values and objectives.
+ Oversee, direct, and participate in tactical implementation of strategic government relations vision, including managing external lobbying firms.
+ Partner with public affairs and public relations to strategically message and favorably impact public policy issues and enhance our reputation with key stakeholders.
+ Build the internal government relations function at TTI.
+ Serve as the company’s primary point of contact for federal and state elected officials.
+ Track legislation and engage in direct lobbying.
+ Recommend and oversee political contributions to candidates and associations aligned with business interests.
+ Organize and engage in community events with elected officials.
+ Engage with internal business partners to develop positions, prepare and provide legislative testimony and other subject matter expertise directly to state and local officials.
+ Strictly adhere to all lobbying and ethics laws.

**Job / Employment Requirements:**
+ **Minimum Qualifications:**
+ The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
+ Years of Relevant Work Experience: 5+ Years
+ **Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Must have experience working in government relations, public affairs, lobbying or on Capitol Hill, executive branch, or federal administrative agency.
+ Must have demonstrated ability to develop and leverage a strong network of key bipartisan leaders.
+ **Location and Travel:**
+ Position location is flexible depending on experience of the applicant.
+ Travel to multiple corporate sites and Washington D.C. will be expected 40-50% of each month.
+ **Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies:**
+ Superior written communication skills in both formal and informal contexts.
+ Excellent verbal presentation and public speaking skills.
+ Exceptional judgement and ability to function and multi-task under pressure and ambiguity.
+ Operate using the highest ethical standards.
**Compensation and Benefits:**
+ Salary Exempt Position
+ Target Annual Salary between $150,000 to $250,000 based on experience and qualifications.
