Director of Growth – Scaling Regions

  

Mission:

In this role, the Director of Growth will be responsible for expansion project planning, focused on collaboration and engagement with core HQ teams. The Director of Growth will be responsible for managing all model components of growth (enrollment, space planning, financial, and other) through coordination with HQ role experts and is ultimately responsible for ensuring each model works in concert with the others. The Director of Growth will support the search, selection, and acquisition of campus sites aligned to planned school model, determine if, when, and how non-traditional campus options warrant acquisition, and create regional profiles given analysis conducted by growth analyst (opportunities, threats, recommendations). Finally, the Director of Growth will coordinate the charter approval process including requesting amendments; progress monitor IDEA against charter approval processes​. 

 

Location:

This is a full-time remote position based in Texas, with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or who are willing to relocate.

 

Travel Expectations:    

Up to 20% of the time during the busiest parts of the year.
 

 

What You’ll Do – Accountabilities

 

Essential Duties:

 

Expansion project planning, focused on collaboration and engagement with Headquarters Teams Develop and codify, where necessary, models that support growth through collaboration with role experts in other departments. Support the search, selection, and acquisition of campus sites aligned to planned school model​ through collaboration with the Operations team Make recommendations to VP of Growth on launch model including potential non-traditional acquisitions Create regional profiles given analysis conducted by growth analyst (opportunities, threats, recommendations) 

 

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinate the charter approval process including requesting amendments; progress monitor IDEA against charter approval processesDocument processes and workflows for GrowthAdditional responsibilities will evolve as the Growth department is new to IDEA

They facilitate team meetings, ensure clear dissemination of information, and encourage feedback loops within their teams to promote understanding and cohesion. 

 

Additional Skills:

Strong knowledge of the K-12 educational space including experience at public charter districts.Ability to lead, motivate, and achieve results with a diverse group of individuals across multiple regions through influence.Knowledge of financial planning, school models including enrollment, facilities, and staffing implications, and ability to create cohesion between models.Strong computer literacy that includes an understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Strong mathematical skills and the ability to understand and interpret data (charts, graphs, etc.).Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.Ability to manage and monitor multiple projects at once, often under pressure with competing priorities and tight turnarounds while maintaining composure, ensuring quality, and achieving results.Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and excellent decision-making.Ability to advocate, influence, motivate, and hold others accountable through consistency and clarity of expectations.Ability to design, evaluate, and improve existing tools and resources to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency. Ability to provide, receive, and implement feedback that continually improves performance and results.   

Required experience:

Bachelor’s degree At least 6 years of professional experience At least 4 years of people and / or project management experience At least 2 years of experience at a public charter school / district 

 

Physical Requirements:

This is a primarily sedentary position.The ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time.  The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.  Bending, crawling, stooping, standing, vision, lifting, walking. 

 

What We Offer:


Compensation & Benefits:

Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $98,200 and $115,900, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
