Director of Health

The role of Director is integral to supporting the US Public Affairs Health team’s continued business growth, with a primary focus on expanding our presence in the public healthcare sector, particularly within federal markets such as Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Department of Veterans Affairs as well as other related agencies, not-for-profit and academic research organizations. The Director will also play a crucial role in advancing existing client relationships in coordination with project teams.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to acting as a program manager and project executive for research projects, guiding day-to-day team activities to ensure high quality and timely delivery of program requirements. The candidate should also be willing to actively lead business development efforts, including federal pipeline development, capture planning, proposal writing, and relationship building.

The Director must have a working knowledge of research methodologies and client areas of interest including quantitative and qualitative research measures. The ideal candidate is one who has proven experience in leveraging their market research or professional services expertise in a business development and growth capacity.

The role requires an independent, self-starter with a consultative selling style who is capable of building positive and collaborative working relationships with clients and colleagues and that has institutional knowledge of the healthcare industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leading teams involved in study implementation, including survey design, fielding, data analysis and reporting to guarantee client satisfaction. Cultivate and reinforce client relationships by understanding their business objectives and delivering exceptional client service. Build new client relationships and manage current business with a primary focus on federal markets within the healthcare sector. Manage all facets of the business development process, from prospecting and qualifying to negotiating and closing projects. Maintain a deep understanding of Ipsos’ products, services, and trends in the market research industry. Manage relationships with partner organizations including large businesses, small businesses, SDVOSBs, and more. Contribute to thought leadership activities.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 5 years of experience, with a proven track record in generating new business and expanding existing business. Master’s degree in Health Services, Public Health, Health Management, Public Policy, or a quantitative social science discipline. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a strong client service orientation. Experience leading research and advisory services for federal clients in the healthcare space. Experience working with veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their families is highly preferred. Experience in a market research, agency, consulting, or other professional services organization is preferred. Proficient in new business development skills: prospecting, qualifying, presenting, needs assessment, and the ability to close business. In-depth knowledge of the market research industry. Ability to propose solutions and products tailored to clients with custom needs. Self-motivated, high-energy individual with excellent communication skills (verbal and written), strong listening abilities, and effective presentation skills. Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), sales reports, and CRM systems. Periodic domestic travel required.

In accordance with NY/CO/CA/WA law, the estimated base salary range for this role is $105,000 to $120,000. Your final base salary will be determined based on several non-discriminatory factors which may include but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications.
