Position Summary

The Director of Home Infusion is responsible for modeling the Compassus values of Compassion, Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, and Innovation and for promoting the Compassus philosophy, using the 6 Pillars of Success as the foundation. S/he is responsible for upholding the Code of Ethical Conduct and for promoting positive working relationships within the company, among all departments, and all external stakeholders. The Director of Home Infusion provides leadership and direction for home infusion services. S/he assures a full range of high-quality services that meet patient and referral source needs, executes strategic plans and growth strategies leading to increased market share, and provides supervision to direct reports including pharmacy managers and nurses, to ensure strategic tactics are carried out. S/he maintains clinical proficiency and competence in skills and theory of nutritional support infusion therapy and infection control.


Position Specific Responsibilities

Shapes and directs the creation of an operational framework, providing visionary leadership to ensure the achievement of system strategic priorities and delivering on quality, customer service, and financial objectives within the infusion program.Maintains a robust clinical proficiency, actively participating in agency staffing approximately 50% of the time, or as necessary, to ensure optimal client care standards are consistently met.Establishes and oversees a comprehensive quality improvement program, fostering the attainment of quality outcomes. Collaborates with support staff to translate quality improvement initiatives into positive patient outcomes and achieve targeted quality benchmarks.Guides the implementation of clinical service delivery policies and sets Human Resource standards, procedures, and policies related to home care delivery. Provides leadership, advice, and counsel to team members to ensure infusion services adhere to licensure, accrediting, and regulatory guidelines, mitigating liability, reducing risk, and maintaining positive licensure accreditation and waiver status.Ensures effective and efficient management of established systems for financial operations, including billing, information systems, and payroll. Collaborates with the Vice President and Finance Division to develop agency budgets, monitoring volumes, revenue, and expenses to align with approved budgetary constraints.Analyzes gross profit factors, market conditions, business volume/mix, competition, and operational costs/requirements. Collaborates with the VP and Compliance to negotiate contracts essential for service provision.Assesses market potential in assigned areas, collaborating with the VP to craft annual business plans and execute growth strategies, thereby increasing market share.Champions the implementation and evaluation of tactics and strategies outlined in the strategic plan and system priorities. Collaborates with organizational leaders to develop services that meet the evolving needs of referral sources and patients in the communities served.Perform other duties as assigned.


Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree required; preferably in Nursing, Pharmacy, or Doctor of Pharmacy.Master's or other advanced degree preferred.Three (3) to five (5) years of progressive responsibility in a leadership role in home health, hospice, or home infusion, with emphasis on knowledge of regulations and operations required.


Skills

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, team members, investors, and external parties. Strong written and verbal communications.Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English. Articulates and embraces integrated healthcare at home philosophy. Home Care experience/knowledge of relevant regulations and services.


Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations

If Pharmacist or Nurse, current and unencumbered licensure in state of employment is required.


Physical Demands and Work Environment: The demands of this role necessitate a team member to effectively perform essential functions. Regular standing, walking, and manual dexterity are fundamental, along with the ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds. Visual acuity requirements include close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
