POSITION: DIRECTOR OF HOTEL OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT: HOTEL FRONT OPERATIONS
STATUS: EXEMPT (SALARY)
REPORTS TO: SVP & GM
Job Summary:
Directs the day-to-day operating activities of hotel operations. Responsible for monitoring these operations to ensure high standards of product quality and delivery.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated leadership ability, preferable in Hotel Operations or Hospitality College degree with some Business and Financial courses preferred Must possess excellent communications skills, particularly those skills needed to resolve complaints from dissatisfied and upset guests Must be creative and innovative, to increase guest loyalty and bring in new guests Must be able to manage multiple objectives and tasks simultaneously and be able to continually assess and re-set priorities Demonstrated ability in maintaining consistent, high quality guest service levels. Excellent written and oral communication skills required A demonstrated ability to think strategically and perform competitive analysis is required Excellent motivational ability required creating high levels of customer satisfaction. Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team Must present a well-groomed and professional appearanceEssential Job Functions:
Directs the day-to-day operating activities of Hotel Operations. Establishes and administers procedures pertaining to the proper coordination of all operating activities relating to Hotel Operations. Determines personnel requirements of the departments and establishes or approves shift schedules to provide maximum service to patrons, consistent with operational or seasonal demands. Establishes and administers safety policies and procedures pertaining to the hotel and assures adherence to these policies and procedures. Analyzes, evaluates and submits proper reports for the purchase of new equipment within the guidelines of the hotel department’s budget. Prepares annual budgets and operating forecasts; prepares regular and special reports; maintains necessary records and files. Counsels, guides, and instructs assigned personnel in the proper performance of their duties. Prepares and coordinates the periodic performance reviews of assigned personnel. Recommends personnel changes in assigned areas, including the hiring, promotion, demotion and release of staff. Recommends wage and salary adjustments within established limits. Approves vacations and recommends leaves of absence.Physical, Mental & Environmental Demands:

Ability to keep focused attention on abstract, complex data for long periods of time. Ability to navigate through the casino floor and back of house areas to attend meetings with employees and to host customers. Ability to walk, stand, and converse with large numbers of customers and employees for long periods of time. Ability to travel to different cities. Ability to work over 10 hours per day with few breaks in a very stressful, smoke-filled environment.
