Director of Housekeeping
Establish standards and procedures for staff and plans work schedules to ensure adequate service and coverage. Review staffing to ensure proper coverage while keeping work hours within budget. Perform all employment actions and decisions for Housekeeping Department: screens, interviews, hires, trains, evaluates, counsels, disciplines and terminates departmental personnel. Follow all workplace injury procedures, including completion of reports for timely reporting and issuing corrective action when necessary. Inspect and evaluate physical condition of all areas of the building coordinating with the Maintenance Department. Inspect all work in progress and/or completed by staff or outside contractors and maintains cleanliness checklists. Initiate a training program for all staff and conducts monthly in-services for staff. Keep informed and updated on new and improved cleaning methods, products, supplies and equipment. Maintain strict inventory, ordering supplies as needed while staying within budget. Inspect vacated apartments and completes the cleaning within the prescribed time frame for seamless turnover. Maintain all files and records consistent with the adequate functioning of the departments. Provide reports as required and deemed necessary by the Executive Director. Perform cleaning duties in cases of emergency of staff shortage. Performs regular inspections of resident areas and rooms for sanitation, safety and proper performance of assigned duties. Shampoos rugs in both Resident and common areas. Ensure proper safety and security regarding Resident belongings and items used in carrying out housekeeping and laundry functions. Attend quarterly Q & A meetings and make recommendations to improve operations, safety and/or cost. Adhere to and uphold company policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned by Executive Director.
