Description

  Director of HQ Leadership Development Mission:The Director of HQ Leadership Development leads initiatives to ensure all HQ staff have access to high-quality learning experiences. This individual is resourceful and highly skilled in navigating political spaces in high-stakes situations, managing up and laterally to achieve results. They have excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization and can influence our most senior leaders. They possess strong emotional intelligence, self-motivation, and analytical skills. They are able to demonstrate situational leadership and strong decision-making and judgment. In addition, this individual is an expert designer and facilitator of adult learning. 

They design professional learning experiences that reflect the most fundamental components of IDEA’s point of view on world class leadership & management. They engage frequently with Human Assets, the Schools Team, and regional EDs and VPs as they business partner and train, coach, and support regional and national partners to execute trainings and ensure in-field impact. This individual also supports leadership training across the organization by training and coaching other HQ staff to design and lead effective professional development.  Location:This is a full-time (remote/on-site) position based in (Texas/Louisiana/Florida/Arkansas/Ohio) with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or who are willing to relocate.  Travel Expectations:     ·          Up to 25% of the time during the busiest parts of the year.  What You’ll Do – AccountabilitiesEssential Duties:Curate, develop, plan, and lead professional development programs aligned to HQ teams’ most pressing needs and our organizational priorities. Lead work to organize, coordinate, prioritize, and communicate beginning of year training plans to session designers and Schools Team senior leaders.Train, coach and support professional development design, facilitation, and ongoing development in best practices in adult learning for HQ team members across IDEA.

 Lead IDEA’s leadership development program in change management and team leadership, Teams Leading Change. Partner extensively with the Talent Development Team, Talent Management Team, and the Staff Culture & Belonging Team to strategize and define leadership development priorities, and to co-design and lead training in alignment with our organizational priorities.  Additional Duties and Responsibilities: Contribute to broader Professional Development Team initiatives to develop other training designers throughout the organization, including through training, coaching, and feedback.Additional Duties as assigned. Knowledge and Skills – CompetenciesMake Sound Decisions: This leader is responsible for guiding the decision-making process within the team. Required experience:Education: Bachelor’s degree requiredExperience: 2+ years of teaching pk-12 with a strong record of results, 2+ years designing and facilitating adult training, 2+ years in roles involving leadership and management coaching.   Preferred experience: ·          Education: Master's degree·          Experience: Using a learning management system  Physical Requirements:·          Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting and standing.·          Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.·          Communicating with others to exchange information.
     What We Offer: Compensation & Benefits:Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between, $81,800 and $95,810 commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment. Additionally, we offer medical, dental, and vision plans, disability, life insurance, parenting benefits, flexible spending account options, generous vacation time, referral bonuses, professional development, and a 403(b) plan.
