Director of Inclusion and Engagement

Summary: Reporting to the Associate Dean for Inclusion, Engagement, and International Affairs, the Director supports the School’s goals of fostering a diverse and inclusive learning community that is welcoming to all, and maximizing the Pitt Business experience for all of its members. Collaborates with the Pitt Business community, across campus, and with the Pittsburgh community to initiate, facilitate, and implement initiatives to encourage and support an accessible, inclusive, and engaged environment for all members of the Pitt Business community, including students, faculty, and staff. Supports initiatives that engage faculty, staff, students, and community members in advancing the School’s priorities related to inclusion and engagement. Collaborates with admissions and advising to ensure effective practices in recruiting, supporting, and retaining a diverse student body. Advises on exemplary and effective approaches to recruiting, developing, and retaining diverse faculty and professional staff. Assists in the execution of inclusion and engagement activities that support the School’s goals and priorities.

Duties:

Works with Associate Dean for Inclusion, Engagement, and International Affairs and the Dean to set inclusion and engagement strategy for Pitt Business.Works with Associate Dean for Inclusion, Engagement, and International Affairs and the Dean to update and deliver on diversity, inclusion, and engagement plans.Develops and operationalizes initiatives, benchmarks and appropriate metrics aligned with the inclusion and engagement strategy and plans to assure their success.Implements initiatives to further short- and long-range plans, strategic initiatives, for inclusion and engagement consistent with Pitt Business and University objectives and goals.Serves as Title IX liaison for Pitt Business and coordinates with University Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion to help ensure use of best practices, and compliance with all applicable regulations and policy.Collaborates with faculty, staff, and students across the campus to create, implement, and measure programs and designed to ensure an inclusive campus community.Serves as a member of the Pitt Business Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility Steering Group and on other committees/task forces as assigned.Helps to coordinate communications related to Pitt Business Inclusion and Engagement activities and initiatives.Works with the Associate Dean to maintain active and ongoing engagement with the Pitt Business community to better serve culturally diverse communities, create strong partnerships, and support Pitt Business outreach and recruitment programs.Advises School leadership as to inclusion and engagement programs, initiatives, and relevant matters.

Works across campus and the community to initiate, facilitate, and implement DEI initiatives and the cultivation of work and learning spaces that encourage and support DEI. Develops the necessary strategies to engage faculty, staff, students, and community members in reaching the University’s goals. Develops and incorporates inclusion initiatives to recruit a diverse student body and workforce. Oversees the Title IX process on campus and ensures use of best practices and compliance.

Develops the necessary strategies to engage faculty, staff, students, and community members in reaching the School’s goals. Develops and incorporates inclusion initiatives to recruit a diverse student body and workforce. Serves as liaison in the Title IX process with University Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion ensures use of best practices and compliance.
