**Job Summary and Qualifications**
The Infection Prevention and Control Professionals (ICP) role involves daily collaborative efforts within all facets of health care. The ICP' s professional responsibility is to act as a facilitator to reduce the risk of infection within the facility. The ICP uses evidence based strategies, quality improvement methodology and epidemiologic principles within a fiscally responsible environment. The ICP's knowledge of epidemiology is a resource for health care staff. As a resource in infection prevention and health promotion, the ICP's customers may include patients, families, front line staff, managers, administrators, ancillary support staff, contracted staff, volunteers, employee health, medical staff, community agencies and other healthcare facilities. The ICP has the responsibility to ensure that their unique qualifications and expertise are recognized as a contribution to excellence in patient centered care, patient safety and maintenance of a safe and health work environment. The ICP works in collaboration with the department physician advisor. The ICP maintains the agenda, minutes etc., for the infection control committee.
**What qualifications you will need:**
+ Bachelors Degree, required
+ Graduate from an accreditated school of Nursing(RN) or Licensed Medical Technologist(MT)
+ License to practice nursing in the state of Florida and/or license to practice Medical Technology
+ Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience
+ 3 years nursing experience in an acute care facility or 3 years clinical microbiology experience
+ Certified in Infection Control (CIC), preferred

Our services include trauma, burn, surgical, women’s and children’s services, behavioral health and diagnostic services. We have two full service free-standing ER facilities.
