Director of Learning

Note: This position is remote, but  you must reside in the state of Florida, Texas, or Iowa.

POSITION PURPOSE

 

The Director of Learning is responsible for defining and executing a strategic vision for impactful learning and development initiatives for all positions withing Grand Living’s organization. This role plays a central part in positioning Grand Living as a leader in talent development by designing, developing, and implementing high-quality, innovative learning solutions that align with our strategic vision and goals. Leveraging best practices, data-driven insights, and emerging learning technologies, the role will drive programs that enhance business performance, foster a culture of continuous learning, and elevate leadership engagement, retention, and satisfaction. This position ensures that all learning content is optimized to meet current and future organizational needs, supporting Grand Living’s commitment to professional growth and world-class team member experience across our workforce.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Overall, the Director of Learning’s responsibilities will be focused on the following:

Strategic Leadership and Development:

Lead the design, development, and delivery of learning and leadership programs that align with Grand Living’s strategic objectives. Partner with senior leadership to identify key leadership competencies and define the roadmap for leadership development. Create and implement a learning and development strategy to foster a culture of continuous learning and growth. Conduct needs assessments to identify skills gaps and areas for development across the organization. Collaborate with leadership to set training priorities and ensure they align with strategic goals and objectives.

Learning Management System (LMS) Administration & Optimization:

Utilize UKG Pro Learning to design, implement, and monitor learning programs, paths, and courses for team members at all levels. Oversee content management, tracking, and reporting functions within UKG Pro Learning to ensure program success and compliance. Drive continuous improvement of the LMS experience, ensuring the platform supports scalable learning and development initiatives. Train and support team members and managers on the effective use of UKG Pro Learning for training administration, team member progress tracking, and performance evaluations.

Program Design and Implementation:

Design innovative learning solutions (e.g., eLearning, virtual instructor-led training, workshops, etc.) that are engaging, effective, and aligned with business objectives. Evaluate and update learning content and materials to ensure relevance and effectiveness. Develop metrics and KPIs to measure the success and impact of leadership development initiatives. Ensure training programs are engaging, effective, and current with industry best practices.

Leadership Development & Coaching:

Lead, mentor, and manage team members who support the training initiatives, including delegated trainers and direct report(s). Develop leadership training programs to enhance leadership skills and competencies across the organization, including emerging leaders and high-potential team members. Provide coaching and mentorship to senior leaders and managers to help them effectively implement leadership development strategies. Assess leadership gaps and create tailored solutions to address organizational needs. Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:

Collaborate with Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, and other departments to ensure alignment of leadership development programs with talent management strategies. Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on learning and development strategies to meet organizational goals. Ensure that learning programs meet the diverse needs of team members across various departments and geographies.

Evaluation and Reporting:

Develop and implement metrics to assess the effectiveness and impact of training programs. Prepare and present reports on training outcomes, including ROI and recommendations for improvements. Gather and analyze feedback from participants to continually refine and enhance training offerings.

Compliance and Standards:

Ensure training programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Ensure each community and each team member are compliant with state regulations for required compliance training. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices to inform training strategies.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant certification in coaching, leadership development, organizations development is highly preferred. Ten (10) or more years of experience in learning and development design, development and management. Three (3) years of leadership or managerial experience. Proven experience with UKG Pro Learning, may consider similar Learning Management Systems (LMS). Expertise in designing and delivering leadership development programs, including coaching and mentoring. Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies. Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to think strategically and influence at all levels of the organization. Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess and evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs. Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate cross-functionally.

 

Other:

Fully remote based in Florida or Texas. Must be able to travel up to 100% of the time.
