DescriptionThe Director of Legal will ensure compliance with the firm's contract policies and procedures. Assists attorneys in the development, implementation and management of contract policies, procedures and templates. Conducts legal research and assists in the drafting/translation/review of legal documents. Assists in advising business clients on day-to-day operational legal matters. Uses initiative and good judgement; works independently with little supervision and maintains strict confidentiality.
Key ResponsibilitiesHotel Project Responsibilities\nTo represent the Regional Office Legal Department, negotiate, revise and sign hotel agreements with potential owners. Supervise and manage the implementation of signed hotel projects in respect of hotel agreements, provide training on compliance with contracts to Owner and assist Owner in structuring the legal framework of hotel opening. Channel with Owner.\nAssist in creating Hotel operation-related policies & procedures, and implementation of contract policy, compliance and approval processes. Understand and actively assist in RFP/contract management, drafting, reviewing and translation. Able to effectively communicate with other departments to seek cross-function collaboration by following company policy and under the guidance of the supervisor. \n Corporate Responsibilities\n\nConduct legal research by using legal databases, internet and public record databases and assist in drafting/reviewing/translating of internal advices on business and regulatory requirement related matters. Assist attorneys in legal research and tracking of operational permitting matters. Assist attorneys in advising individual hotels regarding day to day operation related legal matters including commercial leasing, company secretarial matters, IP, data privacy, etc. \nWork with corporate VP Legal and assist Legal Director to develop and maintain reports, databases, legal files as appropriate and required, both online and offline, and assist to organize department activities in coordination with other departments in the company. In case of need, provides administrative support to the Company Management led by the supervisor, including legal document filing, maintaining owner relationship, scheduling appointments, organizing meetings, making travel arrangements, processing expense reports/invoices, preparing responses to guests/outside parties/owners on inquiries.\nAdditional responsibilities and tasks can be added at any time according to the needs of the business and of the line manager.
Job Requirements\nBachelor's degree or above, law or related majors, with professional qualification of lawyer\nAt least 3 years of experience in legal affairs management in a well-known law firm or large enterprise \nExperience in litigation/economic case handling and other related work\nExperience in hospitality industry management is preferred \nAbility to work and communicate in a multinational environment \nMandarin - excellent oral and written skills \nEnglish – excellent oral and written skills\nProficient in corporate law, contract law and related laws and regulations\nStrong background in legal expertise and comprehensive management skills\nGood negotiation skills, language and writing skills \nGood interpersonal skills \nStrong teamwork spirit \nStrong stress tolerance \nGood contract drafting skills \nExcellent Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) knowledge \nAnalytical thinker \nFlexible and reliable \nTolerant and open-minded \nStress management \nDiscreet and capable of dealing with the high level of confidentiality\n
