**POSITION SUMMARY**
This position leads and manages the logistics operation for the organization, managing the transportation and distribution of medical specimens and supplies across various medical and testing facilities. Oversees the management of commercial fleet vehicle operations for the organization. Responsible for ensuring timely pick up and delivery while adhering to strict quality and compliance standards, often collaborating with departments, stakeholders, and customers to optimize efficiency, quality, cost effectiveness, and customer experience.

**CORE FUNCTIONS**
1. Develops work goals and objectives for assigned departments to include operational and /or administrative/clerical functions; provides leadership, measures feedback, and motivation for staff achievement of departments’ goals. Acts as liaison with parent partners.
2. Prepares with input from staff financial goals and standards for operations performance set by the company to support quality and customer service expectations. Develops related actions plans consistent with company’s strategy, goals and budget.
3. Responsible for ensuring quality standards and customer service expectations are met within all operational areas of responsibility. Performs timely and accurate management analyses, as well as development and reporting of key indicators, in all departments. Promotes teamwork and process improvement utilizing Six Sigma/Lean processes.
4. Fosters a positive work environment through effective performance management, support of creative and innovative solutions to work situations, change management. Works collaboratively with sales, lab operations, patient services, IT, and other functional teams.
5. Participates and may lead or facilitate task forces or councils to plan, implement and coordinate programs and/or activities for the organization and participates as required in system planning activities.
6. Directs personnel actions including recruiting, new hire actions, interviewing and selection of new staff, salary determinations, training and personnel evaluations. Develops goals and performance expectations for assigned leadership staff. Mentors and provides for the education, development and shared leadership and develops assigned leaders.
**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**
**DIRECTLY REPORTING**
Three (3) to five (5) management and administrative staff.
**MATRIX OR INDIRECT REPORTING**
Typically up to 150 combined exempt manager and non-exempt office/clerical and technical employees.
**TYPE OF SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**
Directs personnel actions including recruiting, new hire actions, interviewing and selection of new staff, salary determinations, training and personnel evaluations. **SCOPE AND COMPLEXITY**
Responsible for commercial operations support and interaction with and support of the integrated laboratory network. Active participant of leadership team. This position has frequent contact with internal management, as well as parent partners, clients, vendors, medical directors, and managers. Customers are employees and management of the integrated laboratory, and the clients they serve in the Hospital and Commercial environments and the community at large. Has freedom to determine how best to accomplish functions within established business and technical procedures. Gives guidance in situations where procedures to not exist or are unclear.
**PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENT FACTORS**
Requires extensive sitting with periodic standing and walking. May be required to lift up to 20 pounds. Requires significant use of personal computer, phone and general office equipment and use of Laboratory Information Systems. Needs adequate visual acuity, ability to grasp and handle objects. Must wear protective clothing as required. Ability to communicate effectively. May require off-site travel.
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
+ Evidence of increasing responsibility in personnel management, financial management and organizational skills.
+ Must possess clear understanding of financial statements and operations analyses.
+ Skills include excellent customer understanding and leadership skills.
+ Excellent oral/written, analytical/strategic skills, interpersonal skills and ability to utilize necessary computer programs including Word and Excel.
+ Must possess the ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously and current knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration or related field.
+ Seven (7) years’ logistics and operational management experience
+ Four (4) years leadership experience with direct reports.
+ Must possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Master’s Degree in related field.
+ Previous experience in healthcare or related field.
+ Experience with Six Sigma/Lean or process improvement.
+ Additional related education and/or experience.
