We're looking for a Director of Marketing – Money20/20 Europe to join our team in London as part of our Marketing function.
Your team: Reporting to the VP Marketing, with a dotted line to EVP Money20/20 Europe you will be a growth-minded Director of Marketing who is open to new ideas, flexible in their thinking, a true team player and ready to get their hands dirty. You’ll collaborate with hugely creative team members across departments and geographies (content, design, experience, creative...you name it, we’ve got it). You will be supported by data literate specialists from, analytics, web dev, customer success, marketing ops, marketing automation and more. And you’ll have the opportunity to nurture and develop a best in class marketing team around you to deliver the best Fintech event in Europe.
Your Role: You will lead the strategy and execution of marketing initiatives to drive delegate revenue, build brand awareness, and optimise engagement across all channels. This is a senior leadership role that demands a blend of strategic vision, operational excellence, and innovative thinking to ensure Money20/20 Europe remains the premier event in fintech and financial services.
This is a critical role at Money20/20 with responsibility for the success of marketing campaigns that drive impact, excitement and revenue. We need someone who delivers what they say they will, when they say they will - and pushes their team-mates to reach even greater heights. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
● Develop and own the overarching marketing strategy to meet or exceed revenue targets for delegate sales.
● Define and execute a robust marketing roadmap to drive engagement, awareness, and conversion.
● Analyze market trends, audience insights, and competitive positioning to inform strategies and campaign designs.
Demand Generation & Conversion
● Lead and devise multi-channel marketing campaigns (digital, social, email, content, and partnerships) to optimize lead generation and conversion.
● Collaborate with the sales team to implement integrated marketing-sales strategies, leveraging CRM data and marketing automation tools.
● Monitor and optimize the delegate acquisition funnel to maximize ROI and minimize cost per acquisition.
Brand Awareness & Engagement
● Build a compelling narrative that positions Money20/20 Europe as the regional must-attend event for fintech and financial services.
● Support the development of world-class content marketing, thought leadership, and storytelling that drives awareness and affinity for the brand.
● Partner with PR teams to amplify visibility across media channels, industry forums, and key influencers.
Leadership & Team Management
● Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability.
● Manage direct reports
● Manage and optimize marketing budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and effective allocation of resources.
● Establish KPIs and performance metrics to track success across campaigns and initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
● Partner with the Content, Sales, and Operations teams to deliver seamless attendee experiences from pre-event marketing through on-site engagement.
● Work closely with the data analytics team to measure campaign performance, attendee behavior, and conversion rates.
● Collaborate with global Money20/20 teams to share best practices and align on global brand strategies.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
● Achieve delegate revenue targets
● Increase delegate acquisition
Achieve brand awareness and engagement growth metrics (measured by share of search, PR reach, social engagement, etc.).
Your Experience
● Proven Experience: in marketing leadership roles, ideally within large-scale B2B events, fintech, or related industries.
● Revenue Focused: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategies that drive significant revenue growth, with a strong track record in achieving €10M+ targets.
● Strategic Vision: Exceptional strategic thinking, with the ability to translate business goals into actionable marketing plans.
● Digital Expertise: Deep expertise in digital marketing, marketing automation, and CRM platforms (e.g., Marketo, Salesforce, HubSpot).
● Creative Flair: Proven ability to craft compelling narratives and innovative campaigns that capture audience attention.
● Leadership: Experience building and managing high-performing marketing teams, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
● Analytical Mindset: Strong data-driven decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze metrics and optimize performance.
● Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the fintech, payments, and financial services sectors is a significant advantage.
