Director of Marketing

The Director of Marketing at Desert Diamond Arena will oversee all functions of the Marketing department as they relate to creation and implementation of detailed promotional and marketing programs of venue event, venue branding and social media platforms. A primary focus will be placed on the promotion of concerts and sporting events, meetings and private events, premium seating and other products and events within the venue. This individual will partner with the Marketing manager to work closely with the event promoters to develop and implement creative marketing campaigns that promote public awareness, drive revenue through ticketing, ancillary inventory, private events and premium seating sales opportunities . Responsibilities include: Nurturing key relationships with event promoters and media partners; overseeing the media buying and billing process of both traditional and paid media; venue sponsor prospecting, supporting private event and premium sales teams, contract negotiation and fulfillment; establishing local marketing and advertising relationships to form promotional partnership and trade opportunities; managing both the Marketing & Social Media Manager and Marketing Coordinator and coordinating internally for successful event planning.

Responsibilities:

Advertising and promotions: Ensure the development, implementation, maintenance and reconciliation of comprehensive marketing and promotional plans. Negotiate advertising rates and contracts, explore non-traditional media-related sponsorship agreements, and contract successfully for eventsCreate, prepare and implement advertising and promotional plans for booked events in conjunction with tour promoter.Negotiate and maintain promotional partnerships with corporate partners and media representatives. Nurture key relationships with event promoters, media partners, and overseeing the media buying and billing process.Develops & facilitates Sales & Marketing campaigns in support of Premium Seating, Private Events and other lines of business.

Advertising/Public Relations Function:Revenue prospecting, contract negotiation and fulfillmentEstablish local marketing and advertising relationships to form promotional partnership and trade opportunitiesGenerate new marketing leads, negotiate agreements and activate trades to reduce departmental spending and to help offset budgeted line items.

Administrative:Manage event media settlement, including collecting invoices, coding and back up materials · Oversee and direct content updates on venue and ticketing website Develop a sales strategy to sell ticketsOversee website maintenance, email marketing, social media initiatives and graphic design projects as well as other marketing duties as needed Manage, coach, counsel and direct the activities of the Manager, Marketing and Social Media

Qualifications:

A minimum education level of: BA/BS Degree (4-year) in Marketing (preferred), Business or relatedA minimum of 7 years of related work experienceKnowledge of marketing, media buying, promotions, sponsorship management, public relations, website and social network maintenanceManagerial experience with ability to lead and represent the Marketing DepartmentWorks well independently and as part of a team. Creative thinking, strong initiative, and verbal presentation skills.Self- starter, strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Proficient in Power Point, Word, Excel, Photoshop, Illustrator, and web research strategies.Proficient in social platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Google +, Instagram, YouTube and PinterestAbility to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidaysSponsorship Sales/Relationship Building experience a plusLive event or sports industry experience a plus
