Georgetown’s Earth Commons Institute is a hub for environmental and sustainability innovation, research and education to accelerate action on the most pressing issues of our earth. Assembling a team of interdisciplinary experts, researchers, leaders and students, the Earth Commons is transforming the university into a living laboratory to develop scalable solutions for a greener, more sustainable world.
The Director of Marketing and Recruitment will oversee and lead all activities related to the strategy, recruitment and marketing of the Earth Commons’ undergraduate and graduate programs in Environment and Sustainability. They will develop a robust brand identity and execute new tactics that identify target prospective student audiences (with a special emphasis on the new undergraduate degree), drive external awareness, and cultivate a pool of prospects for these degrees. Additional duties include, but are not limited to:
Oversee the marketing activities and marketing personnel of the Earth Commons graduate programs to ensure that messaging, branding, and tactics are strategic and consistent.
Working closely with relevant campus partners, develop and implement marketing campaigns and marketing collateral.
Manage recruitment events and develop and approve digital content.
Leverage faculty expertise, owned media channels, and on-campus activities/events in partnership with communications staff.
Work Interactions
This position will work closely with senior-level partners from across the University - the Admissions office; joint program partners (the College of Arts & Sciences, McDonough School of Business, and the School of Foreign Service, MarTech, and the Earth Commons communications. This role will represent the Earth Commons to internal and external constituents including prospective and matriculated students, faculty, and staff. They will work with industry partners and alumni to build new recruitment opportunities and program offerings.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field; or experience in marketing, advertising, recruitment, or admissions, preferably in higher education
6+ years of experience in marketing and recruitment role, preferably in a higher education context
Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Proficiency in CRM systems and marketing automation tools— Slate experience preferred
Passion for environment and sustainability work
Strong writing and editing skills, with experience developing marketing collateral
Supervisory experience is preferred
Experience managing marketing contracts and agencies preferred
Working Conditions
Ability to travel domestically and internationally for recruitment events.
Flexible work hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, to accommodate recruitment events and deadlines

Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$54,616.00 - $100,493.33Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
