Summary: The Director of Mortgage Risk is responsible for the leadership, governance and management necessary to identify, measure, evaluate, mitigate, and monitor the Mortgage Division operational risk, compliance, and fraud.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Directs all mortgage Line 1 risk management activities of the company including ownership of Mortgage's risk and control inventory and leading risk and control self assessments across all risk stripes within Mortgage. Develops, implements and monitors a risk-basked risk and compliance management program and assist management in developing corrective action plans Researches, analyzes and develops recommendations for implementation of new rules and regulations Works with Mortgage Leadership and Line 2 and Line 3 Risk to ensure the Mortgage Division's operational risk management policies, limits and controls, and strategies are in compliance with applicable regulations and supervisory guidance, strategic imperatives of the organization, and Board approved thresholds. Recommends changes to monitors Key Risk Indicators and operational risk indicators. Provides expert advice and shares best practice/risk mitigation techniques including establishment of appropriate controls with management to enable them to proactively manage the operational risks with their business units. Assesses new products, procedures, and process changes to identify potential risks and suggest appropriate mitigation plans. Leads and advises on special projects to evaluate and mitigate risk across the company. Identifies and develops training to support enterprise-wide understanding of risk. Develops tools to identify, measure and monitor all operational risks. Coordinates all audit activities for the Mortgage Division with regulators, internal reviews, and investors. Performs all other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities:
1. Directly responsible for directing, coordinating, and evaluating designated units or certain personnel in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising, performance; providing pay change recommendations, disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Bachelor (4-year college) degree and 10+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
