Director of Nursing - Gottlieb Memorial Hospital
**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** Rotating Shift **Description:** The Director of Nursing at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital is responsible for creating an environment that supports nursing practice in the delivery of safe, timely, efficient, equitable and patient centered care. The Director of Nursing works under the direction of the Chief Nursing Executive (CNE), responsible for ensuring that patient services are in compliance with nursing care standards as well as state and federal regulations and fostering an environment of colleague engagement. They are also involved in developing and revising nursing policies and procedures, and they often assist the CNO with nurse recruitment, retention, training and quality assurance. This position works within an inter-professional environment, using their influence to improve the health of populations, reducing the cost of care delivery through clinical effectiveness, quality improvement and patient engagement. The Director of Nursing is responsible for ensuring that patient services are in compliance with nursing care standards as well as state and federal regulations. Position responsibilities: + Involved in developing and revising nursing policies, procedures and assist the CNO with nurse recruitment, retention, training and quality assurance. + Assesses the organization’s nursing practices. Promote better safety and patient-care delivery. Work to ensure nurses provide quality, evidence-based patient care. + Monitors service quality and procedures and evaluate outcomes. Analyze areas of planning and operational efficiency and make recommendations for improvement. Assists in planning new services and programs. + Represents the organization at professional and community-related events. Contributes to organizational goals and direction. + Evaluates and implements special projects. Collaborate with other departments and units to improve services. + Supports the Nursing Councils. Support the Magnet Designation. + Assists nurse management with leadership and decision-making. + Implementation and Support of Multidisciplinary rounds and C3. They will also collaborate with physician and administrative partners and other disciplines to maximize interdisciplinary care, set priorities in accordance with overall institutional goals and departmental objectives. + Implementation and ongoing revision of The Professional Practice Model. + Oversees record-keeping and documentation.
