Position Summary
Directs and manages the operation, strategic planning, marketing and business development, patient/customer experience, and clinical outcomes of one or more defined service lines. Facilitates the planning, organization, implementation, and control of the resources needed for optimal performance of the service line in coordination with the various physicians, clinicians and other support staff personnel.
Essential Job Functions
Develops and executes annual business plan including financial, marketing, clinical, operational, capital and patient (customer) satisfaction objectives which align with corporate system-wide mission, goals and strategy.Anticipates and implements service line enhancements (new services, technology, markets) after thorough cost/benefit analysisAnticipates and plans for regulatory changesEnsures appropriate pricing of services, maximizes reimbursement with knowledge of payor mix, ensures accurate recording of services rendered and related chargesDevelops standards of quality care and communicates expectations to all staff membersMaintains and improves quality by objectively assessing product line services, physical settings, employee morale/commitment to patient (customer) satisfactionMaintains and improves clinical outcomes within service line by assessing morbidity, mortality, infection rates, length of stay, discharge planning, readmits for same or different diagnosis, etc.Manages and ensures quality staff members are hired, trained, communicated with frequently about service line processes and monitoring departmental performance against clinical (and non-clinical) benchmarks.Requirements
