What you’ll do

The Director of Operations is responsible for directing and managing all manufacturing operations to meet production schedules in a timely, cost-efficient, and safe manner while maintaining quality standards. This role oversees all aspects of site operations, ensuring the achievement of key objectives in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale. The Director of Operations will build high-performing teams and implement sustainable operational improvements to achieve S&OP targets and support the organization’s short- and long-term objectives.

Support the establishment of a new operations facility in Waukesha, WI, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategic objectives.Build and lead a high-performing team through recruitment, training, mentoring, and accountability, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and alignment with strategic goals.Develop and implement best practices for systems, processes, and operational execution, benchmarking locations to optimize performance.Instill a strong safety and quality-focused culture from the outset, ensuring compliance with HSE regulations and fostering environmental responsibility.Establish and maintain a management system to report on SQDCM metrics, driving daily manufacturing operations to meet customer requirements through quality assurance, continuous improvement, and timely delivery.Drive lean manufacturing initiatives to improve operational efficiency, reduce waste, and meet productivity goals.Foster a culture of accountability at all levels by setting clear expectations, tracking performance against goals, and ensuring ownership of results to drive individual and team success.Develop and execute strategic plans to enhance site performance, profitability, and long-term growth, including setting production/manufacturing objectives aligned with organizational priorities.Monitor quality standards, resolve operational challenges, and ensure customer satisfaction, including engagement with customers through first article inspections as needed.Plan and direct manufacturing priorities, oversee equipment performance, and implement measures to improve methods and quality.Manage budgetary performance, analyze key metrics, and implement initiatives to improve cost efficiency.Build and monitor KPIs, providing regular reports and developing contingency plans as needed to meet objectives.Direct department supervisors in executing responsibilities to meet production and shipping goals while adhering to quality standards.

What you’ll bring

Bachelor’s degree in: Business, Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing), or a related field.A relevant degree is preferred, but equivalent experience may also be considered in lieu of a degree.5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing operations, with a minimum of 3 years in a Plant/Site Manager or equivalent role.Candidates must currently reside near Watertown, SD, or be willing to relocate to the area.

Great skills to bring

Proven success in operational execution and team development.Bilingual abilities in Spanish are a plus, but not required. Experience with custom equipment installation and/or mounted on chassis is relevant.Experience in low-volume/high-mix or engineered-to-order manufacturing environments preferred.Strong business acumen with a focus on driving profitability and operational excellence.Advanced analytical and communication skills, with the ability to influence across all levels.Demonstrated leadership ability to drive change, inspire teams, and achieve results in dynamic environments.Flexibility to work outside standard hours to meet operational demands.Willingness to travel up to 10%.

The compensation range for this position is $137,000-$168,000 annual salary. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
