Position Overview:
Directs CHMG hospital-based operations and strategically works to improve, strengthen, and define operational goals and objectives. Assists AVP in developing short and long term strategic planning to ensure successful growth, and profitability. Provides direction, guidance, organization, and management of business and administrative operations. Develops and implements general operational policies and procedures for the CHMG hospital based operations. Ensures compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and systems related to fiscal management, human resource management, health care administration, managed care administration, governmental regulations, and corporate compliance requirements. Develop and report performance metrics. Builds and maintains important internal and key customer relationships.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSProvides strategic, operational, fiscal, and human resources leadership and management support within the assigned medical practice(s) to ensure achievement of the organizations strategic and operational plans by effectively managing human, financial and capital resources within the spirit of its missions and values. Develop action plans and implement them where necessary.Directs the overall management by coordinating resources to assure a high degree of safe, appropriate care and treatment for all patients; acts as role model and change agent.Asses the financial and operational growth potential of existing practices. Develops, seeks approval, and manages practice budgets and other group resources within the parameters of the approved budget.Works collaboratively with leadership in the evaluation of operations and the provision of services, problem resolution and initiates change as necessary.Assumes responsibility for the overall management and maintenance of the respective facility and maximizes effective and efficient organizational utilization of space. Brings major capital expenditure issues to the AVP.Manages the practice start-up process for newly employed physicians and groups under area(s) or responsibility. Assures that practices operate at optimal levels in terms of effectiveness and efficiency. Ensures physician participation and integration into the operations of hospital based practice.Serves as a focal point on matters relating to physician practices including contract negotiations, revenue, productivity, staffing, operating expenses, and overall financial performance. Plays a leadership role in evaluating, developing, and implementing performance improvement initiatives.Directs operations of administrative functions within the Capital Medical Group including but not limited to the data analytics required for the daily management of the employed physician group (ie, physician productivity monitoring, physician contract management system, physician compensation management, etc).Oversee the collaboration of business and administrative staff in the development of policies, procedures, programs, protocols and processes to provide an efficient, high functioning employed medical group.Develops and maintains effective relationships with medical and administrative staff, patients and the public.Prepares and presents reports to senior executives. Demonstrates competence and knowledge related to managed care contracting and process and coordinates with internal departments to address managed care issues related to reimbursement.Proactively monitors all operations and makes adjustments to further promote the higher level of productivity and patient satisfaction. Resolves patient complaints when the nature of such involves staff relations. Mediates staff problems/issues when necessary.Monitors and guides resolution to issues surrounding non-compliance with policies and procedures including, but not limited to, compliance plans, medical records completion, review of test results, coding and billing.Assists the AVP with implementation of service line strategic plans, program development, contract negotiations, and overall system-wide success of the sub service line group. Accountable for service line growth, improving market awareness, patient satisfaction, and efficiency of care.Collaborates with public relations staff to coordinate and implement an ongoing marketing program which seeks to increase market share and service opportunities.Manages the population care coordination and navigation of patients along the healthcare continuum, assuring appropriate monitoring of metrics to improve services and outcomes.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSBachelor's Degree in Nursing. Master's Degree in Nursing preferred.Five years progressive operational management experience in an ambulatory or acute care setting. Experience in physician practice management preferred.Demonstrated leadership and skilled in creating a team focused work environment. Excellent verbal, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
