Director of Organizational Development

The team led by Jacobs will be MARTA's CPMO Supplemental Services Consultant and will oversee the construction aspects. Jacobs and H. J. Russell & Company have formed a joint venture to support MARTA's expansion program, and the joint venture program, JRMT (Jacobs Russell MARTA Team), will be hiring for this position. Please note: At present, this position does not offer sponsorship.
The Director of Organizational Development will oversee the design, implementation, and organizational development policies to improve company performance. The Director of Quality Organizational Development duties include examining current policies and practices, identifying issues or weaknesses, and developing solutions to align with business goals. You will also create training programs, instruct managers to implement the new software tools, policies, and procedures. In this role the Director of Organizational Development will also oversee Performance Improvement and Quality Management by providing a planned, systematic, organization-wide approach to designing, measuring, assessing, and improving its performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Well versed in planning and implementing training programs to help employees develop new skills or improve existing skills
* Experienced in coordinating with other departments to ensure efficient operations is in align with company standards
* Knowledgeable with establishing procedures and policies for the department to follow, and ensuring that they are thoroughly followed
* Effective and persuasive communicator with the ability to effectively convey ideas to all levels of management
* Skilled problem solver who works with a sense of urgency and is results oriented
* Six to Seven years of job-related experience is required
* Supervisory experience of hourly direct reports
* Strong analytical and analysis of data skills
* High level proficiency in all Microsoft tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
* Identifies and incorporates best practices and lessons learned into program plans.
* Directs and implements overall program quality management and process improvement.
* Designs and develops training programs for management and employees, focused on a programmatic and project level.
* Fully utilizes and understands existing database (Unifier) and recommends additional software tools for consideration.
* Develops learning activities, audio-visual materials, instructor guides and lesson plans.
* Review’s evaluations of training courses, objectives, and accomplishments.
* Makes assessments of effectiveness of training in terms of employee accomplishments and performance.
* Trains employees on department-wide issues and practices. Presents course materials.
* Prepares the organization for change implementation and provides recommendations on areas of improvement.
* Coordinates and complies with MARTA’s learning and development standards.
* Consults with management on performance, organizational and leadership matters
* Conducts needs assessments to determine measures required to enhance overall department organization performance
* Bachelor's degree in training and development, organizational development, engineering, or related discipline is required.
Ideally, you'll also have
* Eight years of experience is required with at least two years of management experience.
* Expert in designing and implementing effective training and development programs.
* Expert in writing and implementing policies and procedures, specifically in a technical industry
