Role Overview
AtlantiCare, the region’s largest health system with more than 6,500 employees, is committed to advancing quality, safety, equity, and innovation in patient care. The Director of Outcomes Research will develop and uplift a new strategic division of outcomes research tied to quality informatics infrastructure. This new leader will play a vital role in evaluating the effectiveness, efficiency, and patient-centeredness of clinical programs and quality initiatives across the system. This position will design, analyze, and translate outcomes research into actionable insights that guide strategic decision-making and support AtlantiCare’s mission of building healthier communities.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Evaluation
Design and implement outcomes research studies, including observational analyses, quality evaluations, and real-world evidence projects. Assess clinical outcomes, cost-effectiveness, patient-reported outcomes, and population health measures. Ensure compliance with IRB, regulatory, and ethical standards.Data Analysis & Insights
Analyze large data sets, including electronic health records, claims, registries, and surveys. Apply advanced statistical methods and modeling to evaluate program effectiveness and resource utilization. Translate findings into executive-level reports, presentations, and publications.Collaboration & Integration
Partner with physicians, nurses, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams across the health system. Provide consultation on outcomes methodology for performance improvement and clinical innovation initiatives. Support alignment of outcomes research with AtlantiCare’s strategic priorities in quality, equity, and population health.
Dissemination & Leadership
Present results to internal leadership, including the Chief Physician Executive, VP of Quality, and executive team. Publish and share findings at national conferences and in peer-reviewed journals. Stay current with trends in outcomes research, health economics, and quality science, integrating best practices into AtlantiCare initiatives.Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
Master’s or Doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, PharmD, MPH, MS) in Health Services Research, Epidemiology, Health Economics, Biostatistics, or related field. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in outcomes research, health services research, or healthcare analytics (health system experience preferred).Technical Expertise
Proficiency in statistical software (SAS, R, STATA, or SPSS) and analytic tools. Knowledge of real-world evidence generation, health economic modeling, and quality measurement frameworks.Professional Skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with clinical, operational, and executive leaders.
