Director of Patient Access Location: West Salem Clinic | 12133 Edgewater St. NW, Salem OR 97304 Job Status: Full-time, Monday -Friday, 8am-5pm - with rotating Saturday We are looking for a leader to oversee the daily clinic operations activities of Northwest Human Services (NWHS). YOUR ROLE: This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the medical, dental, psychiatric, and mental health clinics and the direct oversight of the patient access departments. In addition, this position is responsible for administering and reviewing the performance on the patient access functions. This responsibility includes identifying and implementing strategies to improve processes, promote operational efficiency, enhance the patient experience and meet regulatory compliance guidelines. This is a leadership role with supervisory duties that includes interviewing, hiring, training the orientation of new staff, ensuring appropriate staffing levels, maintaining cohesion of staff, and quality of work. Provides mentoring, coaching, and counseling to direct employees as needed, based on established policies, procedures, protocols, and personnel policy guidelines. The patient access functions expand to multiple sites and different healthcare delivery methods including but not limited to onsite, telemedicine, phone, and mobile visits. SPECIFIC DUTIES: + Works closely and in conjunction with the clinic leadership team to ensure effective daily operations. + Makes day-to-day leadership decisions by securing and comparing information from multiple sources to identify operational issues including using data driven decision-making method. + Responsibility for projects and programs from inception through completion/implementation. Sustains team unity and engagement by developing, motivating, and guiding the team to achieve results together through productive relationships and work. + Manages and oversees day-to-day activities of staff assigned to call center, reception, medical records, and empanelment. + Organizes functions through establishing clear accountabilities, delegation of duties and appropriate departmentalization without creating silos. Develops and maintains an effective, visible and well-respected team by selecting, evaluating, coaching and managing the performance of qualified professionals. Works in a collaborative manner with all managers and leaders to ensure a successful process improvement. QUALIFICATIONS: + Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field required. + A minimum of five years’ healthcare supervisory experience required. + Previous experience supervising front and back-office staff in a medical clinic required. + Medical records management experience preferred. + Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making.
