About the location:

A secluded oasis at the edge of an idyllic lagoon! Purpose 

 

To direct and oversee all aspects of the Human Resources division including benefits administration, employee relations, recruitment and retention of staff, communication to staff, career development of staff, wage & hour compliance, training, workers’ compensation and legal matters related to hotel employees. 

Job Responsibilities 

 

Monitor the quality of staff performance including review of disciplinary actions, recommendations for suspension or termination as well as establish a regular performance appraisal program for all staff. (20%) 

 

Influence the quality, content and intent of communications in the hotel and recommend the most effective vehicle of communication and the best channel to use in terms of ensuring that pertinent information is available to all levels of staff. (15%) 

 

Assess the development and effectiveness of all levels of employees and the manpower needs of the hotel using succession planning, and assisting management with career planning and counseling. (10%) 

 

Supervise the financial issues for the HR budget including benefits, labor & salary reports and plan cost effective events within the HR budget guidelines. (10%) 

 

Establish and implement recruitment, selection, placement and pre-employment procedures in accordance with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts’ policy and all applicable laws to include hiring, staffing guide and compensation guidelines. (10%) 

 

Comply with and enforce Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact. (10%) 

 

Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors while maintaining the confidentiality of Human Resources. (10%) 

 

Analyze hotel training and development needs at all levels and create or coordinate the creation of programs designed to make employees proficient in their delivery of core and culture standards and prepare them for promotion from within.(10%)  

 

Plan and organize overall work requirements of the Human Resources Department and delegate job tasks. (5%). 

 

Design and participate in salary surveys to provide an analysis and recommendation for salary and wage scales and ranges. 

 

Organize and supervise all employee recreation programs including holiday parties, children’s party, general meetings etc. 

 

Respond to and attend any related hearings for all employee claims against the hotel. 

 

Actively support the Safety Committee. 

 

Ensure that the cafeteria, employee entrance and lockers rooms are clean and orderly. 

 

Performs any cognate duties as assigned from time to time. 

 

Knowledge and skills 

 Education:  

College education or equivalent experience 

Experience:  

Experience required by position is from three to five years of employment in the related position with Four Seasons or other organizations. 

Skills and Abilities:  

Requires a working technical knowledge of Labor laws. 

Working knowledge is generally learned on-the-Job or through a series of professional certifications. 

Requires knowledge of the ability to operate computer equipment. 

Ability to read and speak and write English.  

 

French is a plus but not mandatory
