Director of Procurement

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 0800-1700 Duration: 26 weeks Job Function Summary This role involves the acquisition of goods and services, including equipment acquisition, contracting for professional services, design and/or construction services, business contracts, maintenance services, consulting, and personal services. + Minimum 7 years of Procurement Management experience + Substantial contracting experience/knowledge + Strong project management skills + Strong negotiation skills + Strong leadership and communication skills + Experience working in the public sector strongly preferred + Hospital procurement experience strongly preferred This position directs purchasing activities and develops contracting strategies through multiple smaller units in the following areas: + Transactional procurement of general supplies: Responsible for the timely procurement of goods and services through a subordinate Purchasing Supervisor. + Capital projects: Oversees the purchase of capital equipment and associated service agreements for all Health departments, including Design and Construction, through a subordinate Capital Projects Manager. + Contract Administration: Negotiates and executes a variety of agreements, including Leases, Consignments, Evaluation, and Professional Service Agreements, through a subordinate team of highly specialized procurement officers and analysts. + Data Management: Oversees the negotiation of pricing agreements and the management of our procurement database of over 105,000 individual item codes through a subordinate team of dedicated procurement specialists. + Strategic Sourcing: Oversees the financial analyses presented to several value analysis committees and implements/upholds the decisions made therein. Responsible for creating, maintaining, and enforcing multiple product formularies for a variety of commodities, including physician preference items, through a subordinate Value Analysis Facilitator. The position has taken on supervision of a 50% increase in staff to help with the increasing growth and demand.
