A leading medical institution is seeking a Director of Procurement. The successful candidate will manage the acquisition of goods and services including equipment acquisition, contracting for professional services, design and/or construction services, business contracts, maintenance services, consulting, and personal services. The ideal candidate has seven or more years of procurement management experience.

Director of Procurement Pay and Benefits:

Hourly pay: $85/hrWorksite: Leading medical institution (Brisbane, CA 94005, Open to remote candidates in the United States, Candidates local to Brisbane are preferred)W2 Employment, Group Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement Savings Program40 hours/week, 6 Month Assignment

Director of Procurement Responsibilities:

Recommend changes to purchasing policies and practices to meet organizational needs and improve cost-effectiveness and quality of materials purchased.May negotiate major contracts involving large dollar amounts.Conduct presentations of technical information concerning specific procurement activities and initiatives.Manage staff according to human resource policies and procedures.Ensure adherence to purchasing standards and guidelines.Receive purchasing department/function assignments that require the use of judgment and thought.Manage assigned purchasing budget.Advise senior management on matters concerning several functional areas, departments, and/or customers.

Director of Procurement Qualifications:

7+ years of procurement management experience.CPSM is preferred.MBA is preferred.Experience working in the public sector is strongly preferred.Hospital procurement experience is strongly preferred.Substantial contracting experience/knowledge.Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.Professional certification is preferred.Knowledge of the purchasing function with a broad understanding of purchasing objectives and initiatives.Skills associated with directing a purchasing function ensuring adherence to purchasing practices and guidelines.Strong leadership and effective written and verbal communication skills.Management skills required to lead the department, including management of staff performance and development, team building and communications, resolution of issues and conflicts, review and approval of work, and hiring and training employees.Effective interpersonal skills are required in interacting with both internal and external resources.Ability to negotiate with vendors and gain the cooperation of others.Able to make sound and accurate judgments in emergency situations. Must treat all vendors with equal justice.Be tactful when dealing with vendors and user departments.Ability to develop and analyze spreadsheets as well as conduct financial analyses is preferred.Strong project management and negotiation skills.

Director of Procurement Shift:

Monday to Friday from 08:00 am to 05:00.
