Director of Product Marketing
Your Role at a Glance Mastercam is seeking an experienced professional with a unique blend of product marketing, strategy, and GTM skills to fill a highly visible role for the Product Marketing team. The Director of Product Marketing will help drive the end-to-end GTM success of Mastercam products, partnering across Product Management, Marketing, Sales, Applications, OEM and Channel Partners, to prioritize and orchestrate key GTM activities. Responsibilities include driving segmentation, targeting, and positioning for Mastercam products, leading cross-functional GTM initiatives, defining the adoption and commercialization strategy for the products, and identifying any feature/functionality gaps inhibiting GTM success. The Director of Product Marketing will play a pivotal leadership role in defining and driving Mastercam’s product marketing strategy. This individual will lead the Product Marketing team in creating and executing innovative marketing initiatives to enhance product awareness, adoption, and market growth. The ideal candidate will combine strategic thinking, creativity, technical expertise, and exceptional leadership skills to champion the value of Mastercam’s products across diverse customer segments. This role requires a proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives to drive customer adoption, commercialization, and retention of technical products. How You’ll Drive SuccessStrategic Leadership + Develop and oversee the execution of comprehensive product marketing strategies that align with company objectives and drive market share growth. + Collaborate with executive leadership, Product Management, and Marketing teams to establish cohesive messaging, product positioning, and go-to-market strategies. + Serve as the voice of the customer to influence product development and innovation. Team Leadership & Development + Lead, mentor, and inspire the Product Marketing, Learning and Enablement teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture. + Set clear goals and provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to team members. + Attract, retain, and develop top talent within the Product Marketing function. + Work closely with the VP of Product Management to align product marketing strategies with broader organizational goals and ensure seamless collaboration across teams. Product Marketing Execution + Define and prioritize key GTM activities to complement the product roadmap and meet product-attach and revenue metrics. + Drive and launch cross-functional initiatives, ensuring Sales, Customer Success, Channel and OEM Partners, and other GTM teams are properly enabled to execute. + Partner with key stakeholders to define portfolio strategies to increase customer adoption and product revenue. + Collaborate cross-functionally with demand generation, content marketing, sales, product management, and other teams to build alignment around GTM plans. + Assess the effectiveness of current GTM strategies and refine them as necessary, leveraging analytics and benchmarking for data-driven prioritization of product/GTM gaps and collaborating with Sales and Product teams to optimize sales motions and accelerate growth. + Identify product gaps inhibiting GTM success and work with Product Management to prioritize customer needs in the roadmap. + Create crisp and compelling messaging, assets, and enablement tools for both external audiences and internal use by Mastercam's marketing and sales teams. Marketing Insights + Conduct in-depth market research to identify customer needs, industry trends, and competitive dynamics. + Use data-driven insights to continuously refine marketing strategies and maintain Mastercam’s competitive edge. Performance Analysis + Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of product marketing initiatives. + Monitor campaign performance and optimize strategies to achieve desired outcomes. + Present regular reports to senior leadership on product marketing performance and strategic recommendations. The Talents We’re SeekingEducation + Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, business administration or related field, or equivalent experience. + MBA or an advanced degree a plus. Required Skills + Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in product marketing, with at least five (5) years in a team leadership role, preferably in CAD/CAM, industrial software, or a manufacturing technology. + Proven GTM track record of successfully launching software products in competitive markets. Preferred Skills + Strong technical foundation and ability to quickly understand product and technical concepts (e.g., engineering degree and/or product experience). + Deep understanding of marketing principles, including market research, segmentation, positioning, and messaging. + Distinctive problem-solving, strategic, and analytical capabilities. + Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing high-performing teams. + Excellent strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities. + Outstanding communication skills, with experience writing for technical audiences and influencing stakeholders at all levels. + Proficiency in marketing automation tools, CRM systems, and data analytics platforms. + Strong project management skills, including budget management and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. + Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively to own cross-functional initiatives and exceed performance expectations and metrics. + Well-organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment. + Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams. + Up-to-date knowledge of emerging trends and best practices in product marketing.
