This role will be reporting to the Vice President of Product, Yahoo Mail. 

About the role:

Yahoo Mail is seeking an experienced Director of Product Marketing to be the key liaison between PR, Marketing, Sales, and Product organizations. This role will lead product planning alignment, feature coordination, and launch efforts with key stakeholders. This position requires a product-focused individual with a strong background in product management and who can effectively communicate product benefits, coordinate with stakeholders, and support public relations efforts with compelling data stories.

Responsibilities:

Stakeholder Liaison:

Act as the primary liaison between product management and other departments (Marketing, Sales, PR, and Customer Support), ensuring clear communication and alignment on product initiatives.

Collaborate with marketing, sales, and customer support teams to gather insights and feedback that inform product strategy and marketing efforts.

Facilitate regular meetings and updates with stakeholders to discuss product education, feature promotion, and launch plans / timing..

Sales Support:

Collaborate with sales teams to develop and provide comprehensive sales materials, including presentations and other materials that effectively communicate the benefits and features of Yahoo Mail to potential clients and partners.

Product Pipeline Coordination:

Represent the product organization in the calendarization of new product launches and product updates, working closely with product management, PR, marketing, and sales teams.

Lead cross-functional alignment with GTM teams regarding priority launch features and product business goals.  

Public Relations and Data Stories:

Partner with analytics and PR to identify and develop compelling data stories that highlight the value and impact of Yahoo Mail’s features and services.

Work closely with the PR team, as a representative of the product team, to contribute to press releases, case studies, and other materials that leverage data to tell powerful stories.

Product Education and Feature Promotion:

Develop comprehensive product education strategies alongside key stakeholders to ensure users understand and utilize Yahoo Mail’s features effectively.

Facilitate the creation of educational content, including tutorials and in-app messaging, to enhance user knowledge and engagement.

Partner with product marketing to prioritize CRM campaigns to highlight new and existing features, driving user adoption and satisfaction.

User Lifecycle Management:

Partner with product management and marketing teams to develop a user lifecycle framework, leveraging different channels and user-targeting mechanisms to maximize user engagement.

Act as the liaison between product and the marketing technology teams to identify and prioritize technology gaps.

Performance Analysis and Reporting:

Monitor and analyze the performance of product education and feature promotion initiatives, using data to measure success and identify areas for improvement.

Provide regular reports and insights to the Vice President of Product Management and other senior leaders, highlighting key metrics and progress.

Use performance data to inform future strategies and enhance the effectiveness of product marketing efforts.

The compensation for this position ranges from $150,380.00 - $327,025.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives. Yahoo has a high degree of flexibility around employee location and hybrid working. In fact, our flexible-hybrid approach to work is one of the things our employees rave about.
