Kforce has a client in San Diego, CA that is looking for a Director of Programs (Defense) to develop, implement, and drive successful program execution and portfolio growth. This role will oversee the program's strategic direction, stakeholder management, and operational execution. This person must be a proven multi-faceted leader who is passionate about supporting our Noble Cause of advancing warfighter capabilities with elegant, user-focused communications, networks, and software systems. The coupling of commercially proven design with rigorous systems engineering gives us an ability to rapidly design, develop and field solutions well inside of typical military design cycles. With an Agile approach to development (for both software and hardware) rapidly innovates, putting creative concepts into action, and refining those concepts through hands on test, user evaluation, and iteration. Responsibilities: * Work in close coordination with the President, and Directors of Strategy, Engineering and Technology, Operations and Production, and Finance * Provide guidance: Lead, supervise and motivate Program and Project Managers * Craft program and project objectives and communicate these to program leads * Apply Strategic thinking: Set objectives, develop plans, and align programs with company-wide goals * Build and execute portfolio growth strategies * Communicate project goals and expectations to teams, stakeholders, and partners * Oversee the development and management of Program and Project timelines, budgets, and schedules * Streamline workflows, maximize resource utilization, and ensure that each function is performed to align with the objectives * Develop insightful reports for top management * Hire, train, and motivate team members
