General Purpose
The Director of Property Management Transitions is responsible for the seamless onboarding and offboarding of properties managed by Mission Rock. This includes oversight and coordination of all aspects of transitions related to clients’ acquisitions, dispositions, and management changes. The role ensures that data, documentation, systems, and team communications are aligned to support smooth operational handoffs. This position works closely with internal teams, property owners, buyers, brokers, and vendors to manage deadlines, mitigate risk, and maintain continuity of service during changeovers. The position will directly supervise and be responsible for the performance of 1-2 direct reports.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Provide leadership, direction, and support to clients and to internal departments throughout the transition process. Serve as liaison between owners, brokers, property managers, and internal departments to facilitate transfer of information and records.Manage the collection and transfer of all essential documents, including, but not limited to leases, financial performance data, maintenance records, service contracts, insurance, compliance records, and tenant information.Coordinate due diligence activities for buyers and sellers, including documentation requests and property access.Responsible for the ongoing review, development, and updating of processes and procedures for property transitions in order to stay current with industry best practices, maximize efficiency, streamline communication, and minimize impact to property operations and residents. Lead internal kickoff calls and ongoing meetings and manage transition timelines and checklists.Ensure that relevant property management systems and databases are updated with accurate property and ownership information by either updating directly or delegating to the appropriate team member or department, as needed.Arrange setup and/or transfer or termination of utilities, vendor accounts, security access, and operational infrastructure.Manage resident notifications for acquisitions, dispositions, and management transitions to ensure that legal and contractual requirements are met.Coordinate with HR, Learning & Development, IT, Operations, and other internal teams as necessary to provide onboarding support and orientation for onsite and regional staff.Routinely review information collected and provided throughout the course of the transition process to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and appropriate content.Ensure that the Company policies and procedures, best practices, reporting systems, and use of information technology are consistently enforced to comply with the Company Standards.Escalate risks, delays, or issues related to transitions to leadership and propose mitigation strategies.Track and report on the status of all transitions.Maintain a high level of organization, confidentiality, and professionalism.Knowledge:
Knowledge of the multifamily industry and property lifecycle processes, including acquisition, management, and disposition.Knowledge of property management systems and document management tools is highly preferred.Skills:

Salary Description $115,000-140,000
