Where You’ll Work
This position is based in our Washington, D.C. office. We leverage a hybrid working model working three days in the office, two days optional remote work.
What You’ll Do The Director of Quality and Strategic Initiatives will lead the Quality team in developing and executing quality programs and improvement plans. This role will foster collaboration with other CHA teams and support our member hospitals in building a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
+ Demonstrate a comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of the organization’s strategic priorities, aligning the strategic initiatives of the Quality team and programming with organizational and member needs.
+ Actively participate in the development and execution of the quality program - includes strategy formulation, planning, team structure and resource allocation.
+ Foster relationships with children’s hospitals to identify needs and priorities that can be supported through collaborative Quality programs.
+ Create a team culture that is collaborative, innovative, oriented to growth, and adept at creating opportunities to maximize results together.
+ Establish clear standards for each role to ensure accountability and drive progress toward program and organizational goals.
+ Implement a team strategy, enabling each team member to reach their full potential and fosters teamwork. The staffing plan should outline how support roles contribute to the team and how complementary roles collaborate to advance strategic quality goals and objectives.
+ Develop a work plan that describes critical activities and deadlines for collaborative
+ Establishes quality assurance plan for new projects
+ Create business plans for initiatives that align with strategic goals, include feasibility and cost/benefit analyses, and outline success evaluation.
+ Distills CHA and program goals into achievable and measurable work plan with timelines
+ Creation of actionable business plans for ongoing growth and expansion of collaborative efforts
+ Coordinate with children’s hospital leaders to plan and lead planning group calls and orient them to the collaborative process.
+ Oversee budgets and contracts
+ Lead with an understanding of how dynamics, personalities and talents align to build a strong team.
+ Coach, mentor and actively engage in professional development of staff by providing or supporting opportunities to broaden and enrich roles.
+ Demonstrate integrity to build trust, encourage honest dialogue, resolve conflicts, appreciate diversity, and foster teamwork.
Required Experience:
What You’ll Bring to CHA
+ Master’s degree with a concentration in health policy, management, public health, or related field required.
+ Minimum 5 years progressive experience in leading or participating in quality collaborative-type work.
+ Experience leading, coaching, and developing effective teams.
+ Experience within health care, association, accreditation, and/or consulting settings; hospital experience in quality assessment and improvement is desirable.
+ In-depth understanding of quality improvement tools and techniques and measurement science.
+ Demonstrated ability to distill complex issues and summarize discrete data into useful information.
+ Advanced use and knowledge of quality improvement tools and techniques.
+ Ability to present complex information and tailor written communications and presentations to various audiences.
+ Experience in managing projects, creating clear plans and following through fruition.

More About CHA
This pay range shown is a guideline. Min: $103,000 Max: $227,000. Compensation is based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
