Description:

The Director of Radiology at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital coordinates and ensures the effectiveness of multi-faceted department(s) or service area(s), which includes setting priorities, developing policies and procedures; overseeing and guiding process or program design, improvement implementation and maintenance; financial and human resource management; strategic planning; and quality assessment and improvement. Continually evaluates progress toward objectives and ensures that day-to-day operations are efficient and effective.

Position responsibilities:

QUALITY: In collaboration with senior management and/or clinical
leadership, assists in establishing standards and strategic initiatives to
support organizational patient care goals. Routinely measures and
monitors the assigned areas of responsibility. Creates and manages
processes which contribute to continual performance improvement.
Actively supports and promotes process improvement within areas of
responsibility. Ensures that assigned areas meet or exceed regulatory
requirements.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT: Assists in the development of annual budget
to ensure appropriate allocation of resources to support operations and
meet departmental goals. Manages operational budget including
revenue, expenses, staff levels and capital equipment sufficient to meet
current and projected patient volume or service requirements.

PLANNING: Leads strategic planning activities for service area and aligns
departmental or service area plans and activities with organizational
goals. Analyzes environmental issues as well as quality, service and
financial data in order to collaboratively develop systematic plans for
achievement of goals. Adapts goals and plans to provide response to the
environment and successfully meet challenging, but achievable goals

ORGANIZING RESOURCES: Implements systems and functions to achieve
organizational objectives and maximize quality of care and high patient
satisfaction, and/or efficient operations. Recruits, interviews and selects
staff in collaboration with Human Resources and ensures that staffing
guidelines/standards are maintained in accordance with patient care
and/or departmental requirements. Utilizes measurements of quality and
productivity to evaluate systems and staffing. Develops and implements
policies and management/operational structures to ensure continuous
quality care, patient access, customer service excellence and enhanced
profitability.

TEAM BUILDING: Fosters positive team collaboration and staff
development to facilitate efficient operations, employee engagement and
achievement of patient quality/safety/satisfaction or customer service
excellence goals. Oversees human resource functions including
recruitment, training and performance management to maintain the
highest quality workforce. Establishes and maintains effective relations
with internal and external contacts.

COMMUNICATION: Provides effective communication to administration,
faculty, management and staff to establish understanding of the
organization mission and strategic goals necessary to achieve operational
goals. Meets regularly with senior leadership, other departments and
direct reports to facilitate communication, goal setting and decision
making. Represents organization to the public and healthcare
communities, regulatory agencies, media and government.

DIRECTING: With Leadership, participates in establishing standards for
quality, safety and service. Coordinates, assesses, and approves special
projects. Develops staff and management to use abilities and talents to
accomplish goals. Regularly evaluates staff and management and
provides feedback related to achievement of established organizational
and departmental goals. Completes annual performance assessments.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Actively engages in professional
development to maintain current skills and knowledge of environmental
trends, clinical developments/best practices and business opportunities.
 

What's required:

Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred6-10 years of previous job-related experience, 10+ years preferred.Managerial Experience: 3-5 years
