**Overview** **We are seeking a new Radiology Director to oversee Radiology and Imaging Services at University of Utah Health, Hospitals and Clinics.** **This newly developed position will direct system-wide operations, strategy, and services within the following areas of radiology and imaging:** + **X-Ray** + **X-Ray for Community Clinics** + **Ultrasound** + **Ultrasound for Community Clinics** + **CT** **Qualified applicants must have completed:** + **Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, a clinical field, a related area, or the equivalency.** + **Six (6) years of progressively more responsible leadership and strategic planning experience.** **The additional background below will also be preferred for this role:** + **Master's degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or a related area.** + **ARRT registration in a related modality.** + **Practice management experience in a health care setting.** This role leads and manages the assigned modalities within Radiology Services, focusing on developing and implementing operational strategies and priorities in collaboration with other department leaders. This position reports directly to Associate Executive Director of Radiology Services for University of Utah Health. The main responsibilities include participating in strategic planning and leadership activities, overseeing projects and financial goals for key services, and analyzing operational performance to recommend improvements. Additionally, the role involves evaluating current and proposed systems and procedures using data from technology, industry trends, and financial objectives to enhance business performance and process improvement, aiming to create a division of excellence. The position supports financial, quality, and patient-centered goals by providing strategic input and presenting reports to executives and department heads. EO/AA_ **Responsibilities** **Job Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities** + Leads in developing strategies and implements plans to improve and standardize all aspects of clinical operations within the Radiology environment. + Works with department and organizational leadership to establish and achieve long range goals, ensuring the implementation of strategic business plans that are aligned with the vision, strategic plans, and goals of the organization. + Ensures healthy and collaborative relationships among the faculty and staff within the department, and with other related departments and leaders. + Develops effective, clear, and precise methods of communicating with executive leadership and with other departmental leaders, clinical faculty, and staff on a regular basis. + Continuously assesses and improves efficiency of clinical systems and processes within each area, in collaboration with the departmental leadership. + Partners with key stakeholders across the organization to create operational standards specific to Radiology services. + Develops and launches new strategic initiatives, particularly in the areas of clinical strategy and operations. + Leads, participates in, or oversees special projects, as assigned by leadership. + Works in close partnership with the Director of Radiology - Oncology Imaging to address and resolve problems for imaging operations across the health system. **Talent Management** + Responsible for hiring, training, developing, and communicating with staff. **Financial Management** + Responsible for developing, monitoring and achieving budget goals. + Manages labor and non-labor expenses to budget or flex budget. + Manages revenue to budget to maximize potential revenue. **Facilities and Space Management** + Participates in the design of future imaging space needs. + Oversees the installation of all major imaging equipment for all modalities reporting into this role. + Manages all service contracts for all major equipment for University of Utah Health. + Maintains good working relationships with Facilities Management and similar departments, ensuring that work is accomplished in a timely manner. + Plays key leadership role in large capital projects including minute taking, and workplan development. Oversees space renovations, moves, and relocations throughout the department. + Proactively identifies facilities-related issues that require action. Participates in and responds to various executive rounds. + Communicates changes and updates in space and environment of care to department managers and staff, ensuring that work is conducted in a way that limits disruption to routine patient care operations. + Manages emergencies, working to maintain operations and remediate as quickly as possible. **EPE/Service** + Responsible for patient satisfaction scores within assigned area(s). + Responsible for upholding PROMISE standards of direct reports and team members. **Quality** + Responsible for achieving quality goals for assigned area(s). + Manages and promotes continuous process improvements in assigned area(s). **Performance Management** + Responsible for providing staff feedback on performance, including on-time appraisals and coaching. + Responsible to deal with conflicts in a proactive manner and to reach resolution in a timely manner. **Clinical Research Operations** + Supports and maintains a clinical research structure that is adaptable and flexible to interact seamlessly with the Radiology department. + Works with internal and external research leaders in facilitating ongoing research projects and clinical trials in the department. + Acts as a liaison between clinical research and the clinical patient care team. + Continuously assesses and improves the efficiency of imaging systems and processes. + Regularly participates in meetings with clinical research staff. + Works closely with Finance and Research Administration to ensure resources needed to support research efforts. **Building Relationships** + Forms positive relationships with staff, peers, and senior leadership to support the mission, vision, values, and performance standards of the organization. + Actively engages staff with updates and news and in decisions and work teams.
